Sing Proudly America Today

Osama Bin Laden Has Been Taken Out

Claire Luna-Pinsker

Sing proudly America Today. Kate Smith is famous for singing, "God Bless America." http://youtu.be/koR5SYrOgIU Late last night people gathered together in public arenas around our nation to sing, celebrate and honor the people we lost during 9/11. Osama Bin Laden, the fiend who brought terroristic tragedy to our country by attacking the twin towers in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington, and a plane heading for Washington but taken down by passenger heroes, was finally taken out by special American military forces on May 1 2011.

"America The Beautiful," has been sung by many. The following is Ray Charles spectacular version expressing how many Americans feel today. http://youtu.be/N7Wt4XlXUrc So many emotions are going through our citizens as we remember 9/11. Ten years later the head of the terrorist organization, AL Qaeda, was finally located and removed from this planet's existence. Osama Bin Laden was the number one hated and wanted man in the world. Wikipedia reports 2973 people including 343 firefighters lives were horrifically snuffed out due to this one man's orders. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_11_attacks

"The Star Spangled Banner," our national anthem represents a song about our nation and our flag surviving through war and tragedy. Whitney Houston's version, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wupsPg5H6aE shares that emotion. Today many Americans are waving their flags in celebration. Our President, Barack Obama, shared the news with a quiet calmness, telling America the goal has been achieved, a major threat against our country has been found, shot and killed. Osama Bin Laden's body is now reported to be buried at sea in an unknown spot. ABC news reports the government is conferencing about how Bin Laden's body images can be shown to our nation and the world as proof he is finally no longer a threat. Our country managed to survive and pull together during 9/11. Last night we again joined hands to be together in this moment of historical significance. The date, May 1, 2011 will be remembered along with September 11, 2001, from this day forward.

Sing proudly today America! Let your cheers of, "USA! USA!" ring out. Our military heroes should always be honored and thanked for giving their all to protect us at home. The special military ops force who bravely took the challenge to go after Osama Bin Laden, and succeeded, should be applauded, given a standing ovation by us at home. "I'm Proud To Be American,"is a song I sing wholeheartedly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WsW8XxRIFL0

Great article. When I got in the car after work on 9/11 the radio was playing "America" and that's when I burst into tears.

It's good to see Americans united over something after all the division.

Ray Charles - I love his beautiful take on America the Beautiful. Our radio stations were burning up the airwaves with his rendition :) Love this, Claire, thanks so much, cheers ;)
