Singer Kelis Arrested Outside of Nightclub for Screaming Obscenities
Some sources say that Kelis and husband, rapper Nas were coming from a basketball game when some women tried to approach Nas. Observers say that Kelis began screaming racial obscenities towards the women and began charging at them. Friends of Kelis held her back.
The arrest report says that the two officers were posing as prostitutes in the South Beach nightclub district when Kelis began screaming obscenities at the two undercover officers. After that, she began to charge at them and was restrained by friends.
Kelis Rogers-Jones, 27, was detained at 4:30 a.m. and charged with the two misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence, a Miami Beach police arrest report said.
The singer was released on $1,500 bond hours later, Miami-Dade County jail spokeswoman Janelle Hall said.
Tracy Nguyen, publicist for Kelis declined to comment on the situation.
It's odd that no one has a straight story on what really happened.
Here is another scenario. A popular radio station in Philadelphia reported the incident differently. The radio station says they received reports that Kelis and Nas were allegedly walking by a South Beach nightclub when they tried to pick up two prostitutes that they did not know were undercover officers. The two officers tried ignoring them when Kelis began shouting racial obscenities at the women and tried to attack them. Kelis was retrained and resisted arrest.
Hmmm. Am I the only one that read the book that Nas' ex-girlfriend, Carmen Bryan wrote? In case you don't know, Carmen Bryan is also the mother of Nas' daughter. In the book, Carmen describes a situation where Nas calls Carmen and asks her to have a threesome with him and Kelis.
Not that any of these sources can be completely sure of what happened, but after putting two and two together, I think I know what really happened. Of course, that's just my opinion. Now that you've read this, you are free to make your own.
