Atlanta-based Matchmaker Successful at Connecting Lonely Hearts

With Valentine's Day in less than one week, many singles bristle at the whole observance of the day as they witness coupled up friends enjoy beautiful flower bouquets, surprise engagements, sparkling diamonds, exquisite 5-star dinner dates and all-inclusive romantic getaways complete with all the coos. Who wouldn't feel left out? "Singles don't have to be left out at all," says Ming Gregory, professional matchmaker at Color Blind International dating agency located in the heart of Buckhead in Atlanta. "They can get proactive and do something to jump start their dating lives. If you're single and ready to mingle, then have no fear we are here to help singles find suitable dates just in time for Valentine's Day!"

It wasn't long ago I was a single girl that at some point became numb to the entire notion of Valentine's Day. It seemed even when I did have a nameless, no-good douche-bag around during the holiday, he never did anything significant to make it celebratory. It was more like that day actually added insult to injury. Then one day, I dropped the extra baggage and decided I wanted a dating makeover, so I joined a local dating agency. Studies suggest singles join dating services in record numbers around Valentine's Day hoping to snag a hot date to avoid, the unavoidable. "Two out of every five single people use online dating services today," shares Gregory. "It's my goal to fully arm singles with the tools they need to be successful in finding love offline or online and now is a perfect time for eager hearts to open their minds and consider a multicultural love connection!"

Color Blind International (CBI) is a 'dating club' that promotes and encourages multicultural dating. Embracing each others differences, Ming contends, their goal is to work with those who are willing to open their hearts and minds in hopes of finding true love regardless of race. Although they weren't around when I was part of a dating agency, I would have loved to explore this opportunity. As a Black woman, the media seems to be intrigued by my dating relationship(s) or lack thereof. I'm proud to say that I am a very open-minded person when it comes to love and relationships and have dated outside my race throughout my dating life of 15 or so years. I am currently dating inter-culturally with an African man from Cameroon and enjoying our differences quite a bit! And I must add, I actually found him on my own (wink!).

Opening its doors officially to the public last Fall, Color Blind International has made more than a few hearts happy, matching over 17 couples and at the start of the year, and recently celebrated the announcement of a few engagements. "Atlanta is a great place to find romance, especially with its Southern roots supporting love and marriage," shares Gregory. "Last year was a great time for us and to top it all off, we've added, a division committed to serving the lovely hearts of the LGBT community! We're really excited!"

What's the Single Guy or Gal to Do?

According to the U.S. Census Current Population Survey (CPS), 2007, there are nearly 93 million unmarried Americans over age 18, representing roughly 42% of the adult population. 23% of the unmarried population aged 18 and older are people of color and 77.0% are white. While a clear majority of the unmarried population is white, it is considerably more racially diverse than the married population. "That's great news for us! Being a diverse dating agency, we are built on the premise that racial diversity should be embraced and never get in the way of true love."

"To that, we say to our married friends, consider buying your 'Single and ready to mingle" friends a membership to our exclusive dating club, you'll make their Valentine's Day most memorable!"
