Sinus infection symptoms include a feeling of weakness and lethargy, nasal congestion, rhinitis, impaired vision, and a chronic sore throat. Most individuals suffering from a sinus infection also develop a fever and headache. Some sinus infections cause a condition called Serous otitis media, in which the Eustachian tubes are blocked. Individuals may not have all of the above sinus infection symptoms, depending upon where in the nasal passages the infection occurs.
Another sinus infection condition, called a Maxillary sinus infection, results in the person feeling pain in the teeth and jaw. Pain between the eyes and swelling of the tissues below and around the eyes is a sign that the ethmoid sinuses are most likely infected.
Other sinus infection symptoms could be sinus pain that is felt in the forehead, which usually points to an infection of the frontal sinuses. In contrast, a headache and feelings of pain behind and on top of the head, across the forehead, and behind the eyes, coupled with impaired vision, means an individual might be suffering from acute Sphenoid sinusitis.
Some of the most common sinus infection symptoms include headaches and pain in some area of the face, behind the eyes, or on the forehead. A chronic sore throat, a toothache or aching feeling in the upper jaw, and most definitely persistent nasal congestion are all indications of a sinus infection. A yellowish or greenish nasal discharge, and feverish symptoms are also possible symptoms of a sinus infection. If any of the above symptoms are felt, then it would be prudent to see a doctor in order to properly diagnose your condition and receive proper treatment.
It should also be understood that an individual should not seek to diagnose themselves, as many of these symptoms can also be related to other ailments and conditions. Sinus infection symptoms are very similar to many other conditions and even serious diseases, such as nasopharyngeal cancer.
