Sister Dear

My Oldest Sister EulaMae Passed Away Today

Yvonne Leehelen Dowell
Remember when, my sister dear?

The summer of the year?

The warmth of the sun?

The union picnic of fun?

You made the first peanut butter fudge

I ever ate.

And the best strawberry shortcake.

I bet you didn't know,

When you took me to the show,

A little girl from the projects adored you.

You made her dreams come true,

With Bambi, Cinderella and Snow White cartoons.

It has been many moons,

Since the summer of the year.

I want you to know, sister dear,

My love for you can't be measured.

You are more precious than any treasure.

I will remember you in the summer of the year.

Love always, Baby sister
