'Sister Wives' Special and 'Sister Wives' Honeymoon Special Coming Soon

'Sister Wives' was renewed for a second season just as HBO announced that 'Big Love' is canceled. There will be s 'Sister Wives' special this Sunday. It is surprising that Home Box Office would choose this moment in time to cancel their 'Big Love' drama based on a polygamist family with three wives because polygamy seems to have captured the attention of America. May be 'Big Love' and their cast, Bill Paxton, Chloe Sevigny, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Ginnifer Goodwin just warmed us up to the radical idea.

In the meantime, fans of the Brown family are happy to hear that they have been picked up for a second season. Two specials have already been filmed and will be aired. The first of two specials will air on Sunday night, the second, the 'Sister Wives Honeymoon Special' will air on November 28.

The new season of Sister Wives will begin in March of 2011 with 10 episodes. I am sure there will be plenty of reruns from the first season and the two specials to keep everyone entertained until the new episodes come out.

There has been a lot of speculation on whether or not the 'Sister Wives' would renew for a second season, mostly because of the current felony bigamy investigation going on in Lehi, Utah where the family resides. Kody and his sister wives face jail time and fines for practicing polygamy which is against the law in Utah and all 50 states.

Kody Brown married his first wife, Meri, 20 years ago, she was unable to conceive at first which may have led to him looking for additional wives. Three years later he married Janelle and a year later that had their first child, eventually Janelle and Kody had six kids together. Meri was then able to have one child and no more. Four years ago he married, Christine, with whom he has had six children. All three women raised their kids together along with Kody. All three of his first wives are between 37 to 40 years old.

Then in 2009 Kody "fell in love again." Kody decided to bring a 30 year old, pretty and thin, mother of three, Robyn Sullivan (who had a secret prior marriage of her own) into the marriage. This entire time he was still trying to talk Meri into having more children, which she has tried to do, but can't. Kody even offered her invitro fertilization, which she declined. Allegedly it was Meri who came up with the idea that Kody should marry Robyn, gee I wonder why?

The TLC reality television program is filled with jealousy, uncomfortable situations and many things that Americans have only wondered about. May be Kody needs some love making advice so that he can keep all four of his wives happy. Although I am sure that the family is thrilled that 'Sister Wives' was renewed for a second season, I am sure it is also difficult to show their unconventional private lives in public. Meri lost her job, and Kody has lost clients for his advertising sales business because he has come forward to the public as a polygamist.
