Sister Wives: Robyn's Secret Ex-Husband Revealed

Mitestarossa
Viewers have been wondering who the ex-husband of the latest Sister Wives' Robyn Sullivan and father of her children was. Everyone has speculated why he would allow them to live in a plural marriage and be exposed on television.

The Sister Wives' 4th wife, Robyn Sullivan, was previously married to David Preston Jessop and he is the father of her three young children as revealed by Star Magazine. That name sounds familiar doesn't it. Robyn has stated that she grew up around polygamy and that she understood how it worked. Isn't Jessop the family name of many polygamist that we have heard of recently? From child brides to lost boys, the name Jessop comes up more in the media than any other.

The father of Robyn's kids, David Preston Jessop, is allegedly not happy that their private lives are being exposed on the television reality show, Sister Wives, but there is no word yet if he is unhappy that his ex-wife, Robyn, has married (kind of) a polygamist.

Robyn was shy in high school and previously lived in a trailer park. Obviously it has not been long since Robyn split with David Preston Jessop because their children are still relatively young.

The show is under scrutiny, although popular with viewers, because of the unusual situation and the fact that it is illegal. Kody Brown's first wife, Meri, just recently announced that she was fired from her job in the mental health field because of the show even though her employers knew about her lifestyle previously.

All four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn have struggled with the addition of the 4th wife, Robyn, and the changes in their household.

The Sister Wives star, Kody Brown, husband of three wives is currently being investigated for felony bigamy. It is illegal to live with women as if you are married, even if you are not technically married to them, if you are already married to someone else.

It is unknown if charges will be brought against them because no one has been prosecuted for polygamy in fifteen years. But, this is the first time that a family has flaunted it so blatantly in front of law enforcement and the world.

Most cases of polygamy that have been prosecuted involve child brides, child molestation or other crimes that are not apparent in the Brown household. Still, it is a felony, and if convicted, Kody Brown could go to jail for up to five years. He has hired a high priced attorney to represent him.

UPDATE: Kody Brown and the 'Sister Wives' reveal their secrets on an October 31, 2010 special.

Its a very supportive lifestyle....doesn't bother me if it doesn't bother them....all the old testament patriarchs had multiple wives....I think rules changed when money became an object.

Joyce- maybe you should get the facts before you post, because Meri only has one daughter, she seems very well adjusted, and she is planning on living the same lifestyle as her parents when she is an adult! Let them live their lives, who are they hurting!

That would really suck being the only legal wife, and only having one child with your real husband and then your husband goes out and finds 3 new "spiritual unions" or other wives and has 16 other children combined with them! What are these women thinking and how do they get this out of the bible? Do they not read the scripture about "Obey the laws of Cesar" and a marriage should be "one man and one woman"? What idiots! And then to kick it off they all move to Las Vegas, Sin City! LOL for real! They cant be serious.

Robyn didn't have to "divorce" Mr. Jessop, because they weren't legally married. She is also not legally married to Kody. Three of the wives get welfare and food stamps, because they are technically "single mothers". That is what is wrong with this lifestyle.

well im no law guru or anything but how is it Kody and wives aare actually doin anything illegal? He is only LEGALLY married to Meri and SPIRITUALLY married to the other 3 wives right? so technically he is not running around state to state legally marrying extra wives so actually you could look at it as he is married to one and the others are on the side ladies. if affairs were illegal there would be a boat load of warrants filed lol. now i realize the family isnt looking at it as if the other 3 are extras im just saying to make example that i dont see how its illegal. but like i said im no law guru or attorney or anything just a mom stating her opinion. each to their own

As Robyn has said, her former husband is also a polygamist. They just hadn't added a new wife, before they got divorced. Robyn grew up in a polygamist family and as her ex is a Jessop, I'd venture to guess that he did too.

meri oldest daughter is not happy nor well adjusted. She hates polygamy...and says she will not engage in such when she becomes an adult.

Kody is no more than a man living with his wife and three other women. What a racket, he gets to be married and have affairs.
That's all it is. These stupid women, they don't realize that they are nothing more then his lovers.Could they bring a lover into the house as he has?

I agree with Nikki, Brigette and ME. To each their own. And their a lot worse criminals out than people choosing the way want to live. I hate it people judge other people because of what their lifestyle is or the love of their life is. It doesn't matter to you personally, so leave it alone! And there are many benefits to having that many adults in a household, n most of them being mothers, and having that many older siblings. If more families did that maybe their wouldn't be so much child abuse, especially from babysitters. Teenagers would be more used to it, and other children might get along better without being bullies. Who knows. But I've had an important saying that I have followed as long as I can remember, "Don't knock something until you've tried it yourself. If you haven't tried, u have no reason to talk." Just like don't judge a book by it's cover.
