The Brown family did not allow the cameras to film the wedding, only the reception. There was a "camera free", for guests that did not want to be filmed, most likely because they are also polygamists and it is illegal.
Meri, Janelle and Christine, the first three sister wives, whom all met Kody Brown within six months of each other and all married him within four years, tried to convince everyone that they are not jealous and actually happy about adding Robyn to the family. I am not convinced, although they do seem to like Robyn. The first three wives have been married to Kody for 16 to 20 years and have 13 children with him. They all know each other very well and have raised their kids together.
Then enters Robyn, who has three kids of her own including one with Asperger Syndrome which is on the autism spectrum. Now we know why she would like sister wives to help her, but why would the other three wives want to add her in to the mix. Answer: they don't.
The only wife that does not seem troubled by adding Robyn to the family is Janelle. Janelle, wife number two, is perfectly happy getting up every day and going to work. Her oldest son makes breakfast for the rest of her kids (5 total) and then helps them off to school. In the evening, wife number three, Christine makes dinner. Janelle loves her perfect life.
Wife number one, Meri, felt guilty from the start that she could not have a large brood of children for Kody. Her sister wife, Janelle, had the first child born to the family. Meri has only had one child and she is now 15 years old. Kody continues to pressure her to have more kids (which she would love to do, but she is unable to) and he has even offered fertility treatments which she has refused.
Wife number three, Christine, said that she always knew that she would be the third and finale wife (oops, I guess she didn't realize more would be added later as she aged) in a polygamist marriage and she even turned down marriage proposals where she would be the first wife.
The only big issue on the Sister Wives season 1 finale was the fact that the wives were unhappy when they found out that Kody had helped Robyn pick out her wedding dress. Apparently this is not supposed to happen. Who writes these rules anyway? Polygamy is illegal in Utah. The family faces felony bigamy charges at this time.
The Sister Wives season 1 finale is just the start of a crazy new reality show that may end up with many hurt feelings, high attorney fees and possibly jail time.
