Surprise! Janelle Divorced Meri's Brother Before Marrying Kody Brown
In the 1980's, Janelle was married to Barber, the brother of Meri. According to the report, Meri was not happy that Janelle's marriage to her brother did not work out. Allegedly there is still unresolved tension over the issue.
Janelle divorced Barber, whom she was married to legally, three years before marrying polygamist, Kody Brown in a commitment ceremony. Janelle, who is Kody Brown's, second wife, is not legally married to him. Kody Brown has come under a lot of scrutiny lately for his addition of a fourth wife to his clan. The fourth wife, Robyn Sullivan, who has a secret ex husband of her own, is much better looking, thinner and younger than the first three Sister Wives. Jealousy and hurt feelings have been running rampant on the TLC hit show.
Since the program aired the Brown family is being investigated by the district attorney in Utah for felony bigamy, Meri has lost her job because of the show and Kody Brown added to his felonies by adding a fourth wife and her three children to his family.
If bigamy is a felony in Utah with a maximum punishment of 5 years in jail and a $50,000 dollar fine, I wonder if Kody Brown will get 20 years and a $200,000 dollar fine since he is breaking the law four times.
Kody Brown is currently married to (sort of) and living with Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn, and their sixteen children. Allegedly he makes enough money to support his huge family with his salesman salary although he says that he lost work due to the show and he and Meri filed bankruptcy in 2005.
Now that we know that Sister Wives' second wife Janelle was married to first wife Meri's brother, we are wondering what it is like at family gatherings for these folks. Is Adam Barber mad that his former wife is married to a polygamist, who is also married to his sister. Does that mean that his former wife, Janelle Brown, is now some sort of sister in law? I guess we will all have to wait and see how this turns out on the next season of Sister Wives.

i would just love to see how kody would feel and act if the 1,2,3 and wife #4 decided to have a few more husbands around the house. boy, that would sure be a show for tv. he's a jerk.
