'Sister Wives' stars talk about investigation on TLC special. Kody, Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn Brown talk about their family live in this extra presentation for the season. Never before seen footage and candid answers about the legal investigation and other breaking family news.

The bonus episode to the first season of "Sister Wives" will air on Sunday at 10 p.m. and again at midnight. It will also air again on Tuesday at 9 p.m. EST.

The family of 21 is being investigated on possible felony bigamy charges after they began showing their lives publicly on a reality television show about their family on TLC (The Learning Channel). The Brown family lives in Lehi, Utah where polygamy and bigamy are illegal as they are in all 50 states.

Kody Brown married his first wife, Meri, 20 years ago, his second wife 18 years ago and his third wife 16 years ago. He has thirteen children with his first three wives. Kody then married his fourth wife Robyn Sullivan in May of this year. Robyn has three children with her first husband, David Preston Jessop, who is also an alleged polygamist, but they never took on a second wife while they were married.

Although Kody is well aware that polygamy is illegal in Utah and that it is illegal even if there is not an official marriage ceremony, he felt that it was worth it to come out and share their lifestyle with the world to make things better for the next generation of polygamists, his children.

The state of Utah is currently investigating the family, but since the season is over, the 'Sister Wives' stars talk about investigation on TLC special. In the past, the state of Utah has only pressed charges and prosecuted polygamy cases that involve fraud, rape, child brides, incest or child molestation. The Browns appear to be a happy family, but they are blatantly violating the law on national television, hardly something that authorities can overlook.

The show has been amazingly popular for the network after America was primed for more polygamy programming with the HBO show, 'Big Love.' 'Big Love' glamorized polygamy by showing only beautiful, successful and intelligent women over eighteen years of age.

The TLC show has proved that everything does not go smoothly in polygamist households no matter how much everyone says that they agree with it. This season has shown that some of the wives are extremely jealous and very hurt that Kody has taken on an additional, younger, prettier and thinner wife. Kody is openly infatuated with Robyn which can be seen on screen and must be felt by the other wives.

The family has also suffered financially because some of Kody clients have refused to renew their advertising with him and his wife Meri lost her job in health care after the show aired.

Find out the latest from the family when 'Sister Wives' stars talk about investigation on TLC special on Sunday night.

Why is it if a man has multipal misstresses outside of his marriage it is not against the law, but when a man is not sneaking behind his wifes back it is???? If the wife is excepting of this then whats the problem. Atleast hes being honest, a trait alot more men should seek.

It does not matter if he had legal ceremonies with the other wives it is still illegal in the state of Utah to have multiple common law wives. It is illegal. It is felony bigamy which is a third degree felony.

Nobody on Sister Wives is breaking any laws. Kody is only "married" to one of them, and that would be his first wife. He has taken the others as basically "permanent girlfriends" that he calls his wifes, by giving them rings and having ceremonies. All of these women except his real wife, are not legally married to Kody. So Kody has not broken any laws.
