Sisterly Advice: Do You Have a Hovering Ex? Time to Shoo Them Away

Hovering Exes are normally someone who breaks up with you, but won't make a clean break entirely (still texts, explains his constant presence by saying "your friends" (YUCK) , posts on your wall, you know the drill...)

They may care for you deeply, but for one reason or another the relationship just wasn't 100% right, even if they so desperately wanted it to be. They're looking for "something else", the greener grass, a better match.

Look, it doesn't matter what "something else" is (and SURE as hell doesn't reflect on you), it's just something different than what the two of you had. BUT, until they find that "something else" they hover around because you're comfortable, safe or accessible. They're normally lonely, sex deprived, or just miss the companionship, but remember this is only temporary until that "something else" enters the picture.

It's easy to misinterpret their behavior as wanting to get back together, but more often than not they just long for companionship, sex, someone to talk to, or miss your friendship. Selfish.

Hovering exes tend to be conflicted about whether they did the right thing in breaking up with you. They know something was missing, but are afraid they won't find it with someone else. Often they consider you a great back-up incase they strike out in the dating scene, so try not to cut ties completely. Again YUCK.

Ah, and yes...there's always the Hovering Ex who just wants to sleep with other ladies without the guilt of cheating. A real Gem.

Look. Most of time this couple wasn't happy anyways, but because the relationship was OK it's hard to break-up without an obvious reason. Trust Me Ladies. Thank them for doing you a favor by walking away, but now do yourself a favor and make a clean break before someone gets hurt.
