Pregnancy can be a special time in a woman's life and she'll want to share her joy with others. There is a special situation in which she may double her joy with another person- that is if she is pregnant the same time as her sister. This happens regularly especially with sisters that are in similar places in their lives and growing their families. If a woman is pregnant at the same time as her sister and they have a close relationship, this will make the occasion even more special. If you and your sister are pregnant at the same time, or if you know two women that are-- read on.

Duo pregnancies can build a closer bond. Being around other pregnant women who feel as you do, emotionally and physically, can provide some comfort and a shoulder to lean on. The same goes for two sisters going through the experience at the same time. Perhaps one sister may be much further along in her pregnancy than the other, or their due dates are close. Nonetheless the experience can create a bond for sister, or a closer relationship. If can give two sisters that have little in comment, something very important to talk about- impending motherhood.

Face milestones together. Sisters that are expecting at the same time can compare notes and sometimes reach milestones together, such as the first trimester hurdle or the baby's first kick. They can see what food cravings are similar and how they differ. The sisters can also observe whose stomach is growing at a faster rate and compare sonogram photos. It would be a nice touch to take photographs together showing off your pregnant bellies to remember this time in your life. You'll want to share the photographs with the children so each can appreciate their cousin even more.

There will be lots of sharing. It goes without saying that an experience like this can lend itself to a lot of sharing, from advice, maternity clothes and perhaps even a doctor. And even more sharing will take place after the babies are born. One last hoorah during the duo pregnancy could be a co-baby shower. If the sisters have a close enough due dates, they may opt to have a baby shower together. The charm of the situation will lend itself to be a very lighthearted event. The guests that know both of the sisters, such as family, will have fun seeing the expectant mothers together in their pregnant glory.
