What in the world his sisters talked about he couldn't begin to imagine. They had always kept secrets from him for as long as he could remember maybe it had to do with the party tonight. Maybe they were planning a surprise for him. Little did he know they were planning a surprise for all of them.
Gene was giving a party for their parents and he had asked them to help. Phyllis and Mark Thomas had been together for forty-years. Gene had thought that his parents deserved a celebration after all that time and everything they had gone through. Gene was the oldest of the three so he took it upon himself to begin the planning and had recruited his sisters and the entire staff to help him with the preparations.
Jasmine and Theresa finished their huddle and made their way to the door. They stopped just long enough to assure Gene that everything would be perfect for the party tonight. Nothing would be left undone. Satisfied with the reassurance Gene went to work leaving the party in his little sisters capable hands.
The two watched him walk away and exchanged a knowing glance. He wouldn't figure it out until it was too late. They would humiliate him soon enough and he probably wouldn't have a clue as to what he had done to deserve such a thing.
After two hours the finishing touches were beginning to be put on the dining room. The table was set with a white lace cloth and actual silver settings. There was champagne chilling in buckets around the table. The girls were delighted with themselves as they literally rolled out the red carpet in front of the entrance doors from the study.
Theresa sighed, "Jasmine, are you sure we can pull this off?"
Jasmine answered, "Of course we can. Our darling brother trusts us completely. He will never know what hit him. All we have to do is stay calm."
Theresa merely laughed and nodded in agreement. Then the team went back to work. What a shock everyone was in store for tonight. The two had managed to keep the fact they were buying out their parent's company for months. No longer would the family that had looked down on them for being adopted lord the wealth they had over them.
The scheme had come about fairly easily and was a breeze to execute. Tonight they would make it known to the world they owned "Thomas Printing" now. Then they would throw the family out of the house in the middle of the party. What better way to say thank you.
The idea began to give them both a warm feeling. It had been horrible planning and plotting all this time. All of the months they had put into there plan were finally coming to an end.
The music began to play indicating the first guest arrival. They were all dressed so splendidly. It would be a real treat to see how the night ended.
