Sit-A-Spell Coffee House has had to delay its scheduled opening due to unexpected problems but it hasn't hurt the spirit of those who look forward to bringing the city of Harlem, GA something new and exciting.

"I hate that we've had to push back our opening, but I look forward to that day when we can serve the best coffee and sandwiches in town!" Owner Jennifer Tutt says, "I want this place to be THE place people want to come back to, again and again!"

After several months of renovating the store, final touches are occurring this week, so that it can open the doors to the public. Fresh paint in shades of gold and crimson has given a comfortable appeal to the establishment.

Mocha cream stain on the floor ties in with the earthy tones of the walls and woods, the natural palate is accented by hanging light fixtures and tasteful décor. The library of books will be available to browse and read with hopes to expand the collection. A system of book check out is also being developed but is not completed.

The staff plans to offer more than just a wide array of coffees, teas, sandwiches, and pastries! Signature Sandwiches and mouth-watering beverages are just the tip of the iceberg! Offering the community 'More' is the true goal of new establishment.

"I have great people with positive attitudes who want to make the difference and I think that will not only bring people in, but keep them coming back." Jennifer explains, "I want this place to set the bar for service for more than just its excellent products."

Plans for Poetry Night are set for Friday nights and there is a sign up sheet at the House's MySpace site. A book club, poetry classes, and various crafting classes are also possibilities the staff hopes to offer at no cost to the patrons.

Owner Jennifer Tutt says that she wants her place to give back to the community. A creation of a program called 'Sit-A-Spell's Care-N-Share Program' will take donations from the patrons and work with local agencies to bring joy to the holidays of those who are less fortunate.

"We want people excited about our place. We want them to look forward to walking through our doors each and every time they do." Jennifer said, "This place is something special and that's how I want people to feel when they are here."

Renovations are expected to last though this week with hopes of an opening no later than Monday, December 10th, 2007.

All Sit-A-Spell staff live in the community that they will serve. The owner stated that she chose her people from the local talent pool because Harlem has great people and, because the staff are residents, they will want the best for their home community as well.

"I can't wait!" Melissa, a fulltime employee, exclaims, "This is going to be so much fun!"

Even with technical problems, the excitement has not waned. If Harlem looks forward to their new addition with the same excitement as the staff, it is certain to be a huge success.
