There are several areas in Indiana where people enjoy spending holiday weekends. A few of these getaways are listed below:

Brown County, Indiana is one LaborDay Weekend getaway that has so much to offer, you will want to stay longer than a weekend. There are cabins among the trees, with streams flowing nearby and lakes where you can fish. Some of the cabins have fireplaces also. Or if you would rather stay in a city, go into Nashville, Indiana, where you can catch a live show of country entertainers - Little Opry. It is a beautiful place with an art gallery and great restaurants, motels and hotels. There is often an art show and sale in Nashville, Indiana also, where you can browse to your heart's content. Some cabins are truly beautiful and romantic, and outside surroundings are serene where you can enjoy a variety of birds and other wildlife.

There are also trails where one can ride horseback and hike in Brown County, and areas with swings and other kinds of intertainment for younger children. Make Brown County, Indiana your getaway this year.

Turkey Run is a popular site to visit for a LaborDay weekend fun getaway. Turkey Run is near Crawfordsville, Greencastle and Lafayette Indiana. We have stayed at the Inn which is reminisent of years past, but well cared for. The trees are all so beautiful in the fall all colored in red, gold and golden brown.

The history of Turkey Run gives a distinctive view into the past. There are gorges that you can walk down into and experience an earlier time where the sandstone represents 600 to 300 million years of nature's artwork. There are cabins to rent, and one can hike or simply enjoy the terrain. A log church is across the concrete bridge near the Inn that was originally constructed in 1923. It remains as a reminder of the religious heritage of our forefathers There are non-denominational services held through the warm season each Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

Indiana Beach is a wonderful place for a LaborDay Weekend getaway, especially if you have children. The Beach House Inn has single rooms and spacious units inside the park. There is also park gate admissiion, private pool and a sand beach. The Beach House Inn is located just off the Boardwalk Funway. The Beach House Inn offers comfortable beddidng, basic cable television and maid services for your weedend getaway. Indiana Beach is joined by Shafer Lake, where you will find a fun park with rides for children of all ages, food and many other amenities for your Indiana getaway.

Washington Park, Michigan City, Indiana on beautiful Lake Michigan is a fun place to spend your LaborDay Weekend getaway. The beach on Lake Michigan in Michigan City, Indiana stretches for miles. The lovely sandy beach is usually crowded on a summer afternoon with many residents of Michigan City and nearby La Porte, Indiana. There are also many people who travel from out-of-state to enjoy Washington Park and the Lake Michigan beach. An old lighthouse stands just a way from the beach, and is an interesting point.

There are many hotels and motels in Michigan City, Indiana where you can getaway in comfort and be near Lake Michigan. The Hutchinson Mansion Inn, in the Historic District near the shores of Lake Michigan would be a fantastic, romantic getaway. This Inn is a beautiful restored Victorian Mansion and Carriage House in Michigan City, Indiana, which is a rather small city at the southern tip of Lake Michigan. Staying at the Inn, you can hike and explore the many sites and interesting areas of Indiana's Dune Country.
