Sites that Pay You to Write Online

Online Writing Sites that Pay

Stephanie Manning
If you are looking for additional income or just looking to for a profitable hobby, then consider writing online. There are several sites that pay you to write online. Some offer payments for each article, some pay by page views and others pay by add clicks. Either way, with good writing skills and a few extra hours a week, you can bring in a reasonable income. Some writers even stay home and freelance for a number of sites and bring in a full income each month. Below you will find some of the more popular sites that pay you to write online.

Associated Content

Associated Content is one of the leading online writing sites that pay writes for their work. Associated Content allows you to write articles on any subject you choose. Associated Content, also referred to as AC, pays writers $3-20 per article as well as for page views. They pay $1.50 - $2.00 for every 1,000 page views.

Associated Content pays their writers usually by the 10th of each month through PayPal for the previous months page views. Article payments are sent out usually write after the article is published.

Suite101

Suite101 does not pay writers per article nor do they pay by page views. So how does one earn money with Suite101? It's easy, Suite101 uses Google Adsense. Everytime an ad on your article is visited, you earn a percentage of the revenue earned. They use ads that relate to your article. Suite101 pays you once a month via PayPal.

Constant Content

Another online writing company that can earn you an income is Constant Content. Constant content is a little different then other sites though. You actually sell the article to those who are interested in it. Constant Content just host the article. There, you can sell both previously published and never before published articles. Constant Content keeps 35% of the article price and you receive the other 65%. You get paid once a month via PayPal.

Helium

Helium is another online site that pays writers to write. However, there is a lot of controversy over writing for Helium. Helium pays by the page views for the most part. However, you must be sure to rate other articles in order to retain at least on rating star. If not, you won't earn page views.

In addition to page views, Helium offers several different contests every week. You earn points by how well your article is rated. The points are added up and the over all winners on each topic can earn up to $150 per contest. It's very competitive though.

Helium also offers a place to sell your articles. The Market Place features articles titles that publishers are looking for. Some are online websites while others are magazines, books and other printed materials. They post the titles they are looking for and pay from $16-200 per article.

While these are just a few of the sites out their, these are the more popular ones that are proven to pay. Other sites like About.com pay very well but require extensive applications, online training time and other things that may not be suitable to all writers. The sites listed above are easy to navigate, easy to abide by and can earn you quite a bit of money depending on how many articles you publish as well as the quality of your articles.

Helium is weird and takes a lot of time. I prefer something straightforward, like AC.

AC just deleted my comment, as it has to do with another site that you mention. Suffice it to say, writing for hire is a low-income pastime, to say the least, in my experience.

Helium has been nothing but a major pain to deal with. When I have finished an article and posted it, the LAST thing I want to have to do is read another long article. I'll pass on them.
