We walk, sleep, bathe, eat fruits, and drink tea during the day. We either do these just before or after the meals or keep a gap of one to three hours between meals and these activities. Walking, sleeping, bathing, eating, and drinking all are necessary. They are good for health but if you do at an appropriate time. From health point of view, it is better not to do immediately after a meal.
Avoid following six activities just after a meal:
Do not bathe: After our meals, digestion of food starts in the body. Blood is required more in the stomach. Bathing will cause increase in blood flow towards hands and legs. This will cause weakness of our digestive system. So do not bathe just after a meal. In fact have your bath first and then your meals.
Do not walk: We all know that walking is good for health. People say that we should walk at least 100 steps after meals. However, please do that at least after thirty minutes of meals. Immediate walking causes digestive system unfit to absorb the nutrition from the food we take.
Do not sleep: Food will not digest properly if we sleep immediately. This may lead to infection of intestine or gastric trouble.
Do not eat fruits immediately after meals: Eating fruits is good but eating immediately after meals causes bloating of stomach. Therefore, eat fruits one or two hours before or after meals.
Do not drink tea: Green leaf tea and herbal tea are good than normal tea. However, do not drink tea just after meals. Tea leaves have high acid content. People also say that drinking too much tea is not good for health. Acid in tea hardens the protein content of food we eat, which is difficult to digest.
Do not smoke: First, smoking is not good for health whether it is active smoking or passive smoking. People who cannot leave this habit at least should smoke occasionally. Heavy smoking or chain smoking may cause cancer. However, even occasional smokers should be aware of some facts. Experimental studies have shown that smoking a cigarette after meals is equivalent to smoking ten cigarettes.
Make the above points a part of your daily routine and become more healthy and happy.
