Mark Skin Care. Admittedly, I was skeptical of Mark products because Mark is a division of Avon, and Avon was not my favorite company. However, Mark products are very on trend, and Avon is a large, longstanding company which means they have plenty of research - and research dollars - to back up their products. So I finally tried the Mark Skin care line, hoping it could help my acne prone skin this winter. What did I find? I love it! I use That's Deep Purifying Gel Cleanser, and every couple of days I mix it with a little bit of Berry Grand Super Exfoliating Beads to exfoliate my skin and get rid of that dull complexion. It works! The beads are actual pieces of pomegranate and cranberry. They are surprisingly gentle and easy to use.
Toner. After I cleanse, I use the Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Toner. It contains salicylic acid and helps keep my breakouts under control. I also use it on my back to prevent any blemishes from forming there, since heavy layers of clothing in the winter can trap pore clogging dirt and moisture other places than just our face.
Moisturizer. I really like Mark's Break Out Plan Acne Gel Moisturizer. It comes in a cute little jar with a clever pump, too. These Mark acne products are great because they contain real fruits and herbs, such as Apple and Willow Bark, to keep skin clear, along side of tried and true salicylic acid, which is acne fighting and age fighting. The only down side was the slight smell from the natural ingredients, but I did get used to it. If my face still feels dry, I follow up with a little Mary Kay Timewise Age Fighting Oil Free Moisturizer, just on my cheeks. It soaks in, but doesn't clog my pores or make me shiny.
Eye Cream . Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Night is a very heavy cream that delivers serious results. I never would have tried it because it is pretty costly at over $100 an ounce, but I received a free sample. My teeny little jar of Un-Wrinkle Night makes the perfect eye cream. This cream would probably be too heavy for my entire face, but is great for just around the eyes. I'm not sure what I'll do when my little jar runs out!
Of course, skin care is very personal. You have to find which products work for you. For some people, results are better when they stick to a single line of skin care products. For others, like me, with acne prone skin, it works best to mix and match. A little trial and error, and a little bit of recommendations from others, and you will be well on your way to skin that is clean, clear, and glowing.
