When one considers that food really is a necessity, as well as shelter, healthcare,( of course there are those, for example Repubicans, that don't think that healthcare is a necessity to those who don't have as much money as they do) and air I suppose that television doesn't rate at the top as a priority. We gave up satellite because we had to set priorities. We actually were able to survive just fine without satellite television, begrudgingly I might add. We finally splurged when our finances improved. Considering we don't do much as far as expensive entertainment, I don't think that we are really living high on the hog.
What is my dilema you might ask? SIX FEET UNDER! I admit it, I am sorry I am purging myself of my addiction. The first step is admitting that you are powerless over something. Yes, I am powerless over my addiction to Six Feet Under. I might add, it is not my fault! It is the fault of my adult children. Okay I have influenced their penchant for the macabre. I fully admit it. Now I am paying the consequences. My son and my daughter introduced me to Six Feet Under. I actually didn't have HBO or Showtime, but they did, and because of them, I got the DVD's from the library and went through intense withdrawal, and grief when they postponed the series. I couldn't believe it.
I haven't even started my agonizing horror over waiting for the next season of Dexter. Thanks a lot kids. Now to top it off it is going to be summer and I can't stay holed up in the house with Dexter and Six Feet Under when there is sunshine and the outdoors to enjoy. How will I get any writing done either? That does it, I will have to get a laptop. I will not be able to afford a laptop either if I don't write furiously. We all know it will not take long to save up for a laptop with my lush funds provided from AC on my pvs. Ha! Ha! Ha!
Well I feel better that I have unloaded and admitted my powerlessness over Six Feet Under, and Dexter too. I have been a quick study because of my desperation and have become amazing at using the DVR. The agony of addiction is calling.

Post a CommentSix Feet Under and Dexter -- two AMAZING SHOWS! I am glad that Six Feet Under, while no longer around, is gaining fans through its reruns. Dexter is a fascinating show, isn't it? My husband and I can't wait for the new season to start.
I've never seen Six Feet Under. We don't start watching some stuff until they're into syndication and nothing else is on.
I haven't seen this one, but I don't get HBO either. It must be a good one!
I have something even more embarrassing to tell you - I used to be addicted to the British program that aired in the States, called, "Prisoner: Cell Block H." Don't ask my why. I won't be able to give you an answer. But I haven't seen it in years and don't miss it anymore. Hopefully the sunshine will blind you to your obsession ;)
I've never seen it myself.
Cute article! I don't get HBO, but may have to rent these!
OH what can I say, I am glad that I am not alone anyway! Ha! I had been deprived for so long from anything on television that it has take me awhile to catch up!
Girl, I LOVE THAT SHOW! I desperately miss it. In fact, I kept HBO just because I didn't want to miss a single episode of it when it was on.
This surprised me! Great work, Shana!
We have 'Six Feet Under' in the UK, but the title put me off. Maybe I need to reconsider!
