Six Flags Magic Mountain is located at 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway in Valencia, California. Many times Six Flags Magic Mountain has been tied as the theme park with the greatest number of roller coasters in the world. When it is not tied for the record it stays at the number two spot for only a year or two. Many of their rides hold records. The records are always changing but you can expect that at least one ride at the park will hold a speed or height record.
The park also has many firsts. One example of a first is the ride Revolution which is the first modern looping roller coaster. Almost a century ago the first loop roller coasters were found to be painful to people so they got rid of them. Revolution was the first time they figured out how to get people through a loop and not get hurt.
Some of the most famous roller coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain include Viper, Revolution, Superman the Escape, Colossus, and Batman. Some of the popular thrill rides in the park are Log Jammer a log flume, Roaring Rapids a classic rapids ride, and Tidal Wave a old fashioned shoot-the-chute ride.
In recent years the park has started to focus on being more family friendly. Six Flags Magic Mountain always had a small kids area but they have been expanding this kids area in recent years. You can find Looney Tunes characters in the old kids area. The new expansion to the kids area features Thomas the Tank Engine.
The one thing about Six Flags Magic Mountain is it is in the very northern part of LA county. It can be far from many people in Southern California. If you are near Valencia it is worth bringing kids. If you live closer to another theme park in Southern California it is not worth coming to Six Flags Magic Mountain if you have young kids.
No matter where in Southern California you live if you like thrill rides and roller coasters you will want to come to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Six Flags Magic Mountain is one of the best theme parks in the country and even the world for thrill rides and roller coasters. A trip here is worth the drive even from as far away as San Diego. This is one of the best theme parks in all of Southern California and the best park for roller coaster fans.
