Six Flags Over Texas; The Best Place to Experience the Thrill of Your Life This Summer

Rob Mead
Every year, millions of people go all over America to seek out the best roller coasters and thrill rides that will get their hearts pumping and their senses tingling. Arlington ,Texas has one of the biggest theme parks in the world located in the center of the city. It's called "Six Flags of Texas", and the theme park features a roller coaster named "Batman: The Ride" that takes it's victims up to more than 109 feet in the air, and then plunges them straight down into dark caves and whips the riders into a frenzy, giving them more twists and turns than a pretzel. The speed of the coaster is more than 50 MPH at top speed, and you will feel every bump of the track as you are sped along this exhilarating thrill ride.

The tallest and fastest roller coaster in the entire southwest is also found at Six Flags Over Texas. This one is named "Mr. Freeze" and it continues with the "Batman" theme that the park has running throughout various sections associated with the popular comic book character. This coaster has an acceleration of 0 to 70 in less than four seconds, and the design includes a linear induction motor to make sure that you are always traveling at the highest possible speeds as you are accelorated through more than 2700 feet of track. The top elevation is 109 feet in the air, and your heart will pop through your chest as you are dropped head first into the cave-like tunnels that blow cold air on your face as you speed through. Quite an experience!

Whatever you do, don't leave this amazing theme park without visiting the monolithic roller coaster known only as "The Texas Giant". This incredible coaster boasts of speeds over 65 MPH that will fling your ride into the Texas sky at more than 14 stories in the air. You will want to escape the coaster when you look around at the ground below you and watch the trees coming at you at an unreal speed. The ride is entirely made out of wood, just like the coasters of yore, and that wood construction makes you feel every bump and jolt during your four-minute thrill ride.

After you have had enough of the spine-tingling excitement of all the roller coasters, you can leave the park and go to "Ton's Mongolian Grill", where you will find the finest top-rated Chinese food in Texas. Since it is a buffet, you can select exactly what you want from a great selection of pork, chicken or beef dishes cooked to juicy perfection with just the right amount of spices. The food is made fresh on an hourly basis from one of the finest Chinese chefs working today. What's even better is the price: Just $13.99 for two adults. At that kind of a bargain, you can enjoy a really great Chinese dinner for the price of just one meal at a more expensive diner. Which one sounds better to you?

Finish off your visit to "Six Flags" with a side excursion to one of the most-beloved ball parks in the Southwest- "Ameriquest Field", or "The Ballpark in Arlington" as it is also known as. Here you will find the "Legends of Baseball" museum where many of the exhibits are on loan from the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. Baseball gloves and the actual jerseys from baseball's past legends like Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Roberto Clemente, Hank Aaron, Ty Cobb and many more are on display here for you to feast your eyes on.

All in all, Arlington, Texas is the perfect getaway vacation that will ensure that you and your family will have many thrills and adventures this coming summer season.
