Six Great Space Stories

Rex Banner
Here are six of my favorite articles related to space. Links are provided for the full stories, which appear in no particular order. Hopefully you will learn something that you did not know before clicking this link. Please enjoy them responsibly!

Two Suns over China

Recently, two suns were recorded over China. There is a scientific reason for this phenomenon, but it is a rare occurrence. It makes me think of living in a far off galaxy with Luke Skywalker. Click here to read the entire story and see an image.

Virgin Galactic

Virgin Galactic is taking reservations for private space flights. It will cost you $200,000 to reserve a spot, but it should get cheaper over time. Click here to read more, or click here to book a trip.

The Hubble Space Telescope

There is no particular news story here. I like everything that the Hubble telescope has to offer. Click here to explore the main page, where you can access news articles.

British Government Releases UFO Files

That's right; the British Government decided to declassify all of its UFO related files recently. While there is no proof of extraterrestrials, there is some interesting stuff there. Download the files, and read more by clicking here.

The Google Lunar X Prize

The X Prize Foundation and Google are sponsoring $30 million in prizes will be awarded to multiple teams. These teams must land a robot safely on the moon's surface, have the robot travel 500 meters, and finally send images and data back to earth. Pretty awesome if you ask me. Click hear to read more about the teams competing for the prizes.

Giant Solar Flares

The one of the largest solar flares in recent history erupted not long ago, but it was hardly noticeable. If things do not line up with the Sun and Earth next time, it could be a problem in the near future. The Sun is getting more active, which could influence human civilization negatively. Check out a visualization of the recent solar flare, and read more by clicking here.
