Creative Date Invite #1: Have a Ball. To invite your special someone to a sporting event or to a fancy dance, buy a giant rubber ball and tie a huge bow around it. You can get a giant rubber ball for two dollars at Target or Wal-Mart. Attach a note to bow that says, "You'll have a ball if you go with me to the basketball game on Friday night!" This is an invitation anyone would be happy to receive.
Creative Date Invite #2: Something's Cooking. For a delicious invite to a dinner date, fill a basket with the nonperishable ingredients for your dinner and leave it on your date's doorstep. An invitation in the form of a menu or recipe would be cute tucked into the basket. Try something like, "Ingredients: You and Me. Directions: Put together on a Saturday night at 7:00 and stir. Results: A fun time!"
Creative Date Invite #3: Rockin' Good Time. This creative date invitation starts with a music CD. Buy a CD, or make a mix of your friend's favorite songs. Make a cover for the CD with the details of the date. This would be a creative way to invite your date to a concert or another musical event. A cheaper way to use this creative date invitation idea would be to scribble your invite in permanent marker on a rock.
Creative Date Invite #4: So Cheesy. Wrap up a box of Cheez-Its crackers and add a gift tag that says, "You may think this is cheesy, but it'd sure please me if you go to the dance with me."
Creative Date Invite #5: Choo Choo Choose Me. This is a great way to ask out someone who is a fan of The Simpsons. Buy a toy train and tie a little tag around it's neck that reads, "I hope you'll Choo Choo Choose me to be your date to the dance!"
Creative Date Invite #6: Beary Fun. Buy a teddy bear at the dollar store and tie a bow around it's neck. Attach a card to the bow inviting your friend on the date. You could say something like "We'll have a beary fun time on Saturday night if you agree to go out with me!" This play on words would also work with a basket of berries, or a Strawberry Shortcake doll. Just use the words "berry fun" instead.
