Crafters know there's all sorts of uses for glass bottles - beer or something else - but what about the cardboard box they come in? Well, you won't believe how much you can do with the, what most people consider to be, trash. It can be turned into organizers and carriers for all sorts of things.
Begin the project by painting the carton. Or, cover the box with adhesive shelf paper, decoupage and cutouts, or other adhesive choices. If you're painting the carton you might need to let it dry well, paint once more, and allow to dry. If you're using adhesive paper, a craft knife will help you cut closely and neatly.
Now add any number of craft items to embellish the six-pack carton. Stickers are a great way to decorate the box, but you can also use cardboard shapes, wooden shapes, plastic shapes, faux jewels, roping, ribbon, pipe cleaners, scrapbook supplies and more.
Now that you've decorated the box you have many choices for implementing it. Fill each compartment with craft supplies, like brushes, scissors, markers, and other necessities. Now it's easy to grab the six-pack by the handle and carry your craft supplies anywhere you want to go.
The beer or pop carton is very versatile; use it anywhere in the house. In the bathroom, the carton can hold makeup brushes, rolled hand towels or wash cloths, a magazine, and much more. For a child, the carton can be used to sort craft supplies, socks, stuffed animals, doll accessories and similar items.
Use the six-pack carrier to hold art supplies, tools and implements, rolled-up artwork from your kids, lotions and powders, spices and condiments, assorted silk flowers for crafting, desk and office supplies, or even to hold travel supplies like small trash bags and maps. There's no end to the uses for the six-pack beer or pop carton, and the best thing is, you can use them for years. Borrowing any serious abuse, the cardboard cartons hold up for quite some time.
You can choose to make the carrier as fanciful or as plain as you wish. Go through the trouble of gluing six small, lightweight picture frames onto the box, or simply paint the box and go. The choice is up to you, but there are some fabulous designs you can create, and the more embellished the carrier is, the more it looks like something you purchased, rather than something you dug out of the trash can.
Use the carrier to set out an assortment of sauces on the dinner table, an assortment of room sprays, or cleaners, in the bathroom, or to hold a variety of things on a roll, like shelf paper or wallpaper borders. You won't believe how many uses you'll find for the cardboard organizer and how much they hold! Once you've made one, you'll want to make many, so get to it. The next time you purchase anything in a six-pack, you'll have an additional organizer. Gift the decorated six-pack box to someone you love. Fill it full of meats and cheeses, art supplies, or something else the person would love. You'll enjoy their reaction!
