Six Reasons to See the Inception Movie

Lindsey Dunn
The movie Inception is being released in July 2010, and from what I have seen and heard, this will be the movie to see this summer. Here are five good reasons you should plan on heading to theaters to see this movie.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio--When I was a little girl, I had a huge crush on young Leo. I remember when he played Luke in the 1990s sitcom, Growing Pains. Later on, he played some noteworthy roles, but it wasn't until Romeo + Juliet (1996) that we renewed our love affair. Leo played the perfect Romeo, young, innocent, unabashed, and passionate. Then, of course, there was Titanic (1997), but Leo was still a boy in that movie. Ever since Gangs of New York (2002), Leo has been a man, and a very attractive one at that. He continues to select roles that are complex, complicated, and outside the lines. Consider his roles in Catch Me If You Can (2002), The Departed (2006), Revolutionary Road (2008), and Shutter Island (2010). Clearly, Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the most compelling talents of our time, and he continues to stun me with the honest vulnerability he puts into his work. In The Departed, he played an undercover cop working to bring the mob down. He clearly showed the torment his character was feeling. As an added bonus, he can speak with different dialects. Leo is starring in the Inception movie.

2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt--I remember Joseph when he was a young boy from the 1990s sitcom Roseanne. I never watched that show, but I remember Joseph's sweet young face. But it was the movie Brick that brought this actor's talent to my attention. If you haven't seen Brick, please go rent it today. It takes all the components of a film noir and sets it in a modern American high school. Joseph plays the stoic hero determined to uncover the truth and save the damsel in distress. We more recently saw Joseph in the popular romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer (2009). He is quite attractive, also, and exudes the tortured soul personae very well. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is co-star of the Inception movie.

3. Cillian Murphy--This actor plays twisted and demented like nobody's business. Cillian Murphy is in the movie, as well.

4. Christopher Nolan--Christopher Nolan is writer and director of this flick. Who can forget that Nolan directed the movie of 2008, The Dark Knight? He also wrote and directed two of my favorite movies of all time: The Prestige (2006) and Memento (2000). In fact, he is the only director/writer that appears twice on my list. This man cannot lose at this point. Every project he chooses turns to gold. He chooses projects about tormented heroes and those that cannot escape from their past.

5. The subject matter--This film is about a foray into the mind and the dreams we have. The movie Inception promises to give us as moviegoers a chance to explore our own dreams. While we ponder upon this idea that dreams can be stolen or planted, it gives us an opportunity to think about what our own dreams are telling us.

6. The trailer--And if all of that wasn't enough, the trailer looks absolutely amazing.

And there you have it, six reasons that you should go and see the Inception movie. Feel free go add yours in the comments.
