1) Woman by John Lennon- This is a beautiful song about a man trying his best to express his love and thankfulness to his "woman". The music that accompanies it is simple, but the lyrics leave no doubt to the love that was felt when they were written. For Lennon, that love was "written in the stars."
2) Baby I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney- If one of the brilliant Beatles has a song on this list, it only makes sense that another one should as well. Again, this song is written directly to his wife, and claims a love so deep, it's frightening. However, that doesn't stop him from wanting it, saying "you're the only woman who could ever help me. Baby, won't you help me understand?"
3) Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton- Even the story behind this song is romantic. While getting ready for a dinner party one night, Clapton was waiting for his wife, who kept changing in an effort to look her best. As he tried to convince her she looked fine, it struck him that she was indeed perfect in every way. He immediately sat down to write this song. For him, "the wonder of it all is that you just don't realize how much I love you."
4) The Air that I Breathe by The Hollies- The chorus of this song says it all- "Sometimes all I need is the air that I breathe and to love you." It's a simple sentiment that any woman would love to be told.
5) Never My Love by The Association- This is the first song on the list that expressly says that the love that's felt will last forever. After a number of questions about growing tired of a relationship, the response is always "Never my love." At one point, the singer finally says, "What makes you think love will end when you know that my whole life depends on you?"
6) I'd Like That by XTC- Just to prove that romantic lyrics have been written since the 1960's, I included this one. This song is more lighthearted than deeply romantic, but it still gets the point across. The singer would like to spend time with his love, doing even the mediocre things that become more exciting in the right company. Plus, this song includes one of my personal favorite romantic lyrics. "I'd smile so much my face would crack in two, then you could fix it with your kissing glue. I'd like that."
These songs are but a small sampling of the many beautiful and romantic songs written over the years, and I'm sure everyone has a list of their favorites. Any woman with a love and appreciation for both their loved one and great music should melt at being played these songs. Good luck!!

Simply, I love to write. It's something I feel driven to do, and although alot of my writing is for my eyes only, I'd love to get my name out into the public. I aspire for something bigger and, well, what'... View profile
