Six Ways to Improve Your Life

Stephanie Modkins
Want to improve your life? If so, you're like millions of people in the world. Their daily ins-and-outs aren't a joy. Turn your life around by taking charge of your time, body and schedule. Here's how. Just:

Say 'no'.
Stop being a doormat for your family and friends. Say no to events and activities that truly don't suit you and aren't your responsibility. Open up your schedule for more me time. Live your life on purpose doing those things that support the kind of world you want to create.

Stay healthy.

Improve your life by putting health at the top of your agenda. Make time to work out and create healthy meals. Visit the doctor. Keep your immunizations up-to-date. Get enough sleep. After all, if you don't take care of you, you won't have the stamina or energy to fulfill all of your dreams.

Set boundaries.
Get more respect in your life by setting boundaries. People won't automatically know how you feel if you don't tell them. So, let your bossy aunt know that she can't visit your home and rearrange your furniture without permission. It's your home and you live by your own rules.

Do what you like.
Remember how you woke up every day as a child hoping to play a game or do something fun? Improve your life by returning to this mentality. Once a day, do one activity that either makes you laugh or relax. By making this kind of behavior a habit, you will savor life more.

Let go of the past.
Don't be held hostage by the past. Face it. You can't do anything now as an adult about the bully who tormented you in high school or the day you and your sibling got into 'that' big fight. The most you can do for yourself is focus on the future and plan on making it as bright as possible. When you adopt this attitude, you will feel a weight lift off of your shoulders.

Talk nice to you.
A simple way to improve your life is by talking nice to you. Rid yourself of those thoughts that say you're stupid, fat and ugly. Instead, replace them with positive ones that highlight your good points. If you practice this type of thought pattern, your ego will raise to a healthy level.

See a light at the end of the tunnel? Try these suggestions and raise the level of your existence. Remember, you only live once, so make your life a good one.
