1. Use Cloth Diapers
Cloth diapers are annoying and messy. On the other hand, if you can't afford an additional $50 a month on diapers, cloth diapers might be the answer to your prayers. In recent years, cloth diapers have become more reliable. In other words, you'll experience fewer leaks, and diaper services are available to pickup and wash soil diapers for you. If choosing this route, select quality diapers. These will cost a little more; however, they tend to last longer than inexpensive brands. For extra protection, purchase a few plastic bottoms.
2. Buy in Bulk
Rather than making two or three weekly trips to the grocery store, consider buying baby diapers in bulk. Since newborns grow at a rapid rate, don't go crazy. Buy enough diapers to last three or four weeks. Wholesale clubs such as Sam's, B.J's, and Costco offer huge discounts on bulk items. These stores are also perfect for buying other baby essentials such as baby food, wipes, cereal, bottles, etc.
3. Look for Diaper Sales
Before shopping, browse local circulars for diaper sales. If a grocery store is having an unbelievable sale on diapers, take advantage of the sale and stock up. The savings will add up, and you will drastically reduce your annual diaper bill. Look for storewide sales and holiday sales events.
4. Compare Prices
You can save money on diapers with comparison shopping. Many retailers sell baby products. If the local grocery store is too expensive, start shopping at general retail stores such as Wal-Mart, K-mart, or Target. These retailers have a large selection of diapers, and usually offer better sale prices. Additionally, discount retailers such as Roses, Dollar General, and Family Dollar offer baby diapers at everyday low prices.
5. Clip Coupons
Browsing the weekly newspaper and clipping coupons is time-consuming. However, if looking for discounts on diapers and other baby products, coupon clipping is the way. Using coupons can reduce your entire grocery bill, and lower household expenses.
6. Buy Generic
Before buying cheap diapers, take into consideration your baby's potty habits. For example, if your baby wets frequently or the diaper is always drenched - don't use cheap diapers. In this case, your baby is likely to experience leaks. If your baby uses the bathroom less, a generic diaper may work for you.

Post a CommentI have been using a new website at www.intelligentmommy.com - they give a price per diaper breakdown at a lot of online stores. It shows a variety of sources and lets me see if I am getting the best deal on disposable diapers.
The cheapest store to find seconds and discontinued cloth diapers and accessories, with excellent customer service is www.dapadiapers.com I haven't found a better deal anywhere!
Good suggestions! I'm a diaper coupon user. I find that I can get better deals with coupons than in "bulk" (Sam's Club). I also use generic diapers (sometimes). It depends on the age of the child, as they get older and move around more I have found that they leak through quicker and I end up using more diapers so in the long run, it's worth a bit more money for the name brand (with coupons).
