Sizzurp a Concoction Containing Cough Syrup Drank by TI and Tiny During Arrest?

Sizzurp is getting some more press. The dangerous purple drink is reported by TMZ to have been drunk by Rapper TI and wife Tameka aka "Tiny" during their recent arrest. So now that TI and Tiny are arrested, sizzurp is getting some big time press.

And that's not necessarily a good thing.

For those of you who don't know what Sizzurp is (and don't feel bad - I didn't either until I looked it up before writing this) it is cough syrup with codeine, 7up, and chunks of red Jolly Rancher candies.

Other varieties include soda such as Squirt, Sprite, or any other fruit flavored fizzy drink.

A non-cough syrup version of the drink substitutes vodka for the cough syrup.

On one hand, drinking the vodka drink is perfectly fine if you do so in moderation and you are of age. On the other hand, drinking the actual "Sizzurp" cocktail, complete with the codeine laden cough syrup, could indicate some problems.

The drink can cause hallucinations, vision problems, and can even make you stop breathing.

Both TI and Tiny were booked on controlled substances Charges. TMZ reports that the charges were for the class of narcotics that codeine belongs to. Furthermore, if you look at the photos posted on TMZ's Web site you will see Styrofoam cups.

Sizzurp is ingested in Styrofoam cups. It's just become one of those "things" that the hip-hop community does.

Furthermore, codeine abuse is a growing problem here in the south. A popular Memphis rap group "3 Six Mafia" has a song about Sizzurp.

MTV reports that the arrest also indicated that there were some pills inside the car that "resembled" ecstasy.

If the allegations are true, TI is so screwed. He recently got out of jail, and a felony arrest is a violation of his probation in and of itself. He can't get arrested, has to succumb to drug testing, and can't own a fire arm.

MTV added that there's no official word on any Sizzurp consumption.

So if it's true that TI was "sippin on Sizzurp" and poppin' pills, chances are he's going to be headed back to jail - something that his fans and family don't want to see happen.

To reiterate - do not drink Sizzurp. It's not safe. If you think your children are consuming cough syrup do some parental like investigations into the matter, because it's very serious.
