"Skating with the Stars" Finale Recap

It's over! It's finally over! I can have my life back! Merry Christmas!

All I have to say is if they bring this show back, it needs a huge overhaul. Starting with the ice. It needs to be bigger than my living room. I get that it's small to make weak skaters seem stronger, but it's stoopid. Especially when there's a cool number like the one Johnny Weir did last night choreographed by Laurieann Gibson and everybody has to pretty much stand still so they don't end up in the third row. And lose the ramp. It's lame.

OK, enough of me pontificating about nothing...let's talk about the Final...

So all the skaters came back, and that was nice. Kinda made me sad that Vince Neil didn't survive a couple of more weeks because he actually looked much improved last night, didn't he? And there was the ghost of Sean Young and a tear rolling down our face when Jonny and Brooke whizzed by...(dammmmm he's hot. I'm officially a fan of skiing now.) Brandon waived from his gurney, the poor kid...and then we all got nervous because it was time for Bethenny and Rebecca to skate.

They each had to take a routine from this season and do it again only make it better and they did. Bethenny did a decent job, I was impressed with the outer-back camel spin even if it was totally partner assisted. My only beef with Bethenny was all the coasting on two feet she did. At this point she should have been beyond awkward cross overs and onto progressives and more backwards skating. But she tried and gave a good effort in the end. Stinkin' Lauriann handing out "10's" like lollipops made me all nervous because I was like, "Nooooo don't you know the B-dawg Army has been up all night making up email accts and casting votes! Why you gotta go and give her a '10'???" But hey it's Christmas, and time to be nice I guess...

Then it was time for Rebecca and I just love her. She's cute and nice, not to mention the snark! Oh the snark! "It's ok Bethenny, you still have 12 jobs," oh I DIED! TWICE! Dish it out girl! Dish. It. Out! She took kind of a beating from Bethenny's fans over it, but I don't think she said it to be mean. I think it was all in good fun, competitive snark. I still loved it though.

Anyway, Rebecca and Fred went out there and did "Hot and Cold" again, and it was good. Props for the flip/toe loop combo and the platter lift. Not to mention the actual skating in between elements. Clearly the winner, clearly awesome. Straight 10's well deserved.

So Greenlee is out inaugural "Skating With The Stars" champion. Good for her. I think with a little tweaking, this show could be good. It got horrible ratings though, so we'll have to wait and see what happens. What do you think? Should it come back? What changes should be made to the show?
