Sketchers Shape-Ups: Product Review

There is a commercial on television talking about a pair of walking shoes that strengthen the muscles in the body and also tones the muscles. Recently while out shopping with my husband, we came across theses shoes. Here is my review on Sketchers Shape-Ups.

My husband is an automotive technician and he spends all of his time at his job on his feet. He walks an average of twelve miles per day. He has had a bad left knee for twenty years since hurting the knee and has had to limp around compensating for the bum knee and all the limping he has done all these years has lead to ankle problems for him as well as lower back pain. We have tried Dr. Scholl's heel gel inserts. We have tried buying hiking boots and sneakers that have a built in arch support thinking that this would ease his pain in his ankle and knee when he walks. Nothing helped. Walking was a chore for my husband and he dreaded the thought of going in to his job everyday because of the pain he was in from walking all day long and climbing a lot of stairs at his job.

I knew there was there perfect pair of shoes out there in this big, bright world just waiting for me to buy for my husband. While out shopping this past weekend at Kohl's, we headed over to the shoe department and we found Sketchers Shape-Ups and my husband sat down and tried on just one shoe and as soon as he stood up, he knew this was the shoe for him. He was reluctant to buy a pair of these because of the price, which was $104.00 on sale, but I told him if they work and will ease your pain from walking, then they are worth every dime.

There were only three colors of Sketchers Shape-Ups in the size my husband wears and I handed him the pair I found and we decided to buy them. We paid for our items and headed home. As soon as we got home from Kohl's my husband put the shoes on and he stood up and said that these shoes are unlike any other type of shoe he ahs ever had on his feet before. He said when you walk, it feels like a rocking chair on his feet and the shoes perform like a tire rolling down the road. The heels do not drag on the bottom when you walk and they are higher in the middle, which makes it so much easier to walk, and as you are walking, your heel does not absorb any shock as they do with other regular shoes. Sketchers Shape-Ups does wonders for your ankles and knees because with theses shoes, your foot is held up better in the middle and your anklebone does not collapse as your walking. These shoes make walking fun and enjoyable again for my husband because he said your feet feel as if they are rolling along and you do not have to lift your feet up and there is less effort needed to walk with these shoes.

My husband has always had a limp when he walks, but now since he wears his Sketchers Shape-Ups, the limp is gone and so is the knee pain and ankle pain. I cannot believe how much of difference these shoes have made in the way his whole body feels now. He is a different person in theses shoes. He said that walking in them feels better than walking barefoot in five inch deep plush carpeting. He never wants to take them off. When he is at work now, he walks and climbs the stairs with no effort at all with no pain in his ankles, knees or lower back. The pain is just not there anymore. I can tell the difference in the way he walks along now just by watching him. The limping is gone and his posture is much better. He stands straight up and erect with his spine in perfect alignment now. He told me that he couldn't explain just how good these shoes feel and make him feel. These shoes make walking more enjoyable now for him and he never wants to take them off and go barefooted again!

After walking in theses shoes at his job, my husband said that there is no comparison to any other type of shoes out there and that he will never wear any other shoe again. With every step he takes in his Sketchers Shape-Ups, it is easier and the pain is not there anymore and his joints do not hurt him anymore. The design technology of these shoes is so amazing and it all comes from what is on the inside of these shoes. The upper side of the shoes is made of durable leather; then there is the sockliner, which is a cushioned insole which also has odor control; next is the midsole for support and stabilizing; next is the kinetic wedge insole which is to absorb shock and last is the outside sole which is made of a long-lasting rubber and is designed to propel you along as you walk.

Sketchers Shape-Ups have two vent holes on the inside of each shoe which helps keep the feet cool but you would not want to go walking through any water puddles with these shoes on. I tried on my husband's shoes, which are too large for me, and I could even feel the difference in the shoes. I can only imagine how good a pair in my size will make my feet feel. I cannot even explain how different and great these shoes make you feel. It is not like your taking a step when you walk. It is more like a rocking chair for your feet. Walking in Sketchers Shape-Ups makes you feel as if you are walking along on a sandy white sand beach! They are so comfortable and soft.

If you do a lot of walking at your job or if your have knee or ankle problems, these shoes could be your answer to prayers because they were for me.
