I love all seasons, I really do. Each season holds special features that I enjoy. During the winter months, my family and I love to go skiing. It was a sport I learned in my college days and I continue to enjoy it even today. There are several really nice Ski Resorts that are located within driving distance from my home in Baltimore. One of the resorts that we go to each year is Ski Roundtop, located in Lewisberry, PA. Their website is www.skiroundtop.com.
We have found that the resort has upgraded throughout the years. It is truly a place that is family oriented and within a price range that a family can enjoy. The resort has been in business for 45 years and throughout the years they have made improvements including state of the art snow making equipment to ensure that we have a nice fluff to plow through.
If you have children who are between the ages of 4 to 12, Ski Roundtop offers a program called Snow Rangers that will provide teaching of basic skiing directions and snowboarding. There is a charge for the training session which usually last between one and half hours, including lunch.
Ski Roundtop staff also offers snowboarding directions at the Burton Learn to Ride center. The rental includes the snowboard and boots and offers instructions for those who would enjoy the ride.
In addition to snowboarding they also have the fun sport of snow tubing, it is exhilarating to travel down one of the designated slopes just like when you were a kid. The Cannonball Run offers 9 tubing runds including a Kiddie tubing run for children under 5.
The Slopes range from Easiest Slopes like Fanny Hill, More Difficult Lower Exhibition and Susquehanna, Most Difficult, Upper Exhibition and Lower Ramrod, Most Experienced Upper Ramrod, and then there is the Free Style course Fife and Drum.
After a day on the slopes enjoy the fireside lodge and restaurants. Since it is close to my home I just do a day at a time, however there are rooms that are available for the weekend. Hope you enjoy this resort as much as we did.
