Skin Care Recommendations

GK
A great part of taking care of our skin is the need to understand that each individual is different and therefore the skincare treatments that are used must be specific to the type of skin for that individual. There are five types of skin. These include normal, dry, oily, combination which is both oily and dry areas that require different care and finally sensitive skin which is very dry and easily irritated. Healthy skin will have a firm and full collagen support. Regardless of the type of skin that an individual has the structure of the skin will begin to deconstruct itself with the loss of collagen but with proper care this deconstruction can be significantly delayed.

Normal skin is named as such because it has and maintains a natural balance between oil and dryness. Aside from being self regulating in this manner normal skin still requires be cleaning daily and well moisturized. Some recommendations for maintaining normal skin include a daily regime at morning and night of cleaning the skin with alcohol free and nutrient rich soap and water. The soap should be mild in order to maintain the skins natural oils. Make sure to use mild non-grease skin care products and moisturizing creams preferably with a natural ingredient foundation. Finally, once a week using a natural facial mask will add nutrients back to the skin that were lost over the week.

Dry skin is much more difficult and requires more regimented care. By comparison a person with normal skin should continue their skincare schedule twice a day with a once a week mask however as schedules persist it is possible for a person with normal skin skip their schedule every so often. The person with dry skin has no such luxury. Dry skin is particularly prone to wrinkles, irritation or damaging flakes. It is this very important to care for the skin by introducing natural oils either herbal oils or very light coconut oil. These are applied to the surface of the skin to absorb and moisturize before putting any make up on.

Oily skin requires the same level of attention as dry skin but with the opposite emphasis. Oily skin needs focus on removing the excess naturally produced oils and hydrating the skins natural moisture levels. Wash your face at least two or three times a day but to avoid irritation use mild soap only once a day. This avoids inducing the body to create even more oil. Care for oily skin can also be assisted by watching one's diet.

Combination skin requires even more attention than dry and oily skin. The individual must realize that they should use the dry skin products around their eyes and on their cheeks while at the same time applying oilskin treatments around their chin forehead and nose.

Finally sensitive skin is a subcategory of dry skin however these individuals must take great care to avoid irritating their skin. Use only mild soaps once a day and make sure to eat fruits and vegetables in order to maintain the skins healthy glow.
