Skin Care Tips to Improve Your Decolletage and Reduce Wrinkles

Candice W.
The decolletage, the chest area above the cleavage, is an often overlooked area of the body when it comes to skin care. It needs to be well cared for to prevent wrinkles and discoloration.

As we age the sun can cause wrinkles, age spots and fine lines on the decolletage. The decolletage is also one of the first areas to show signs of aging because the skin is thin and often exposed to the sun.

Here are some skin care tips to improve your decolletage and reduce wrinkles. These tips will help you maintain a youthful appearance with a lovely, smooth decolletage.

Moisturize. We often pay more attention to our faces during skin care regimens, including the moisturizing process. The decolletage needs moisturizer too. If you've found a good skin care cream or lotion for your face, take the time to apply it to your decolletage as well. In the market for a good cream or lotion? Choose one that is compatible with your skin type. It should also include sunscreen protection.

Microdermabrasion. Having a microdermabrasion treatment for your decolletage is a surefire way to rejuvenate the appearance of your neckline and cleavage. The process exfoliates your skin and removes damaged skin cells from the surface. Talk with a microdermabrasion specialist to design a treatment plan for you. Budget appropriately. You may require more than one treatment.

Diet. Your skin will look better if you eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Lean protein is also ideal. Look for foods that are lot in fat and carbohydrates. Also eat and drink a lot of vitamin C. Water intake is important for the appearance of your skin. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day to keep your skin hydrated.

Sunblock. A day out in the sun isn't complete with sunscreen protection. A good sunblock will help prevent sun damage as well as skin cancer. It's a must for you to put it on any chest area that will be exposed to the sun. Put the sunscreen on your neckline and cleavage 30 minutes before you go outside and every two hours. If you have a choice, avoid going in the sun for prolonged period of times during midday.

With these above suggestions you'll be able to make the most of your decolletage well into the future. You'll be able to continue to enjoy lower cut tops and dresses with confidence.
