Skincare Review: ANEW REJUVENATE Glycolic Facial Treatment

I am not one to spend a lot of money on skincare. However, when you have specific skin issues you do have to come out of pocket from time to time. One product I recommend spending full price on, is Avon's ANEW REJUVENATE Glycolic Facial Treatment. Learn what the product claims it can do and what it did for my skin.

Avon's ANEW line of skincare products are all about anti-aging. The REJUVENATE collection is geared towards women in their thirties as an anti-aging preventative measure or to rejuvenate the skin. One product from this collection is the Glycolic Facial Treatment. According to Avon, this nightly treatment retexturizes the skin to reduce (fine) lines, smooth the surface of the skin and improve overall skin tone. Some specific claims taken from Avon.com include:

Overnight: 78 percent of women saw "more flawless skin"

In one week: fine lines and wrinkles fade and 94 percent showed improved skin texture and clarity

Over time: 97 percent of women showed overall improvement in skin dullness and tone.

My Results With ANEW REJUVENATE Glycolic Facial Treatment

I am not concerned with lines, wrinkles or even skin smoothness. My biggest skin problems are acne and hyperpigmentation. I have a dark "mask" surrounding my mouth that has been there for almost 15 years. Last year it had gotten really dark making it hard to conceal with makeup. I needed a product that would help fade this discoloration. So, I turned to the Glycolic Facial Treatment.

I applied the product only to the discolored area every night. After a week, I noticed the discoloration between my chin and lower lip was beginning to lighten. By the second week, the dark lines around my mouth began to lighten as well. At month's end, the discoloration was fairly noticeable without makeup and not noticeable at all with makeup on (sans concealer). I still use the treatment whenever the discoloration threatens to return and the Glycolic Facial Treatment fades it. After seven months, I am still using the same one-fluid ounce bottle.

My Nightly Regimen with ANEW REJUVENATE Glycolic Facial Treatment

Before bedtime, I wash my face with a gel facial cleanser and pat it dry with a paper towel. I dispense an eyedropper full of the Glycolic Facial Treatment into the palm of one hand. Then I smooth the treatment over my larger discolored areas. I wait about two minutes to allow the treatment to settle into my skin and dry then I apply my night cream. During the day, I wear a moisturizer with SPF 25 to protect the area from the sun's rays, which can work against the progress the treatment made.

For me, this product works with respect to improving skin tone and clarity. I can't speak to it's effectiveness for fine lines and wrinkles, as I have none. However, if you need a product to help fade larger areas of discoloration on your face, I do recommend this one.
