Skip the Blow-Dryer! 3 Ways to Get Sexy Summer Hair

It's hot and sticky-so why spend hours under a dryer blowing hot air on your hair (but we don't mean its okay to go out with that just-woke-up coif!). Lose the heat routine in favor of simple summer styles that will have you looking effortlessly cool. Whether it's carefree ocean waves, beautiful braids, a messy side bun, or a high pony with a chic headband-on-the-fly hair is definitely on the rise. Nicole Richie's been rocking the braids, while Gwyneth Paltrow set the bar for sexy tousled locks. Here's everything you'll need to create smoking hot summer styles yourself-sans the pricey stylist!

Beach Waves

One of the sexiest ways to wear your hair for the hot summer months is to hit the beach. It's much easier than you think to create this just-got-out-of-the-ocean look without ever stepping foot on the sand. After shampooing your hair, simply spritz in Beach Beauty Sea Salt Spray by Sedu and scrunch with your fingers. This salty (and amazingly scented) hair product is definitely one of our must-haves this season because you can bring it anywhere in place of your bulky blow-dryer!

Beautiful Braids

The best thing about braids is that they work well with unwashed hair. If you find yourself with very little time (and who doesn't!) in the morning, part your hair slightly off-center and make two braids (one on each side) framing your face starting at the crown. Secure with small clear elastics like Snag-Free Hair Elastics from Sephora and pin the braids with bobby pins at the nape of your neck. Keep the rest of your hair down and voila!-you've created a sweet n' stylish half-up half-down look for summer!

Swept Up

When the weather is really humid, the last thing you want is hair that clings to your neck. Sweep hair up and away from your face by creating this season's hottest updo. A messy side bun is perfect for day or night. Again, "day-old" hair works best for this look. Simply gather your hair into a low, side pony and secure with an elastic. You may need to tease it a bit (especially if you have thinner hair) to make hair a bit fuller and get that messy look. Twist the remaining hair into a bun, pinning random sections in place with bobby pins. Spray with hairspray and you're ready to go!
