Skirting the Spring 2010 Trends: Skirts You'll Love!

Erin Duff
According to many magazines and fashion websites I've read, the most fashionable skirts for spring 2010 will be heavily focused on different styles of prints. Because of this, other colors to look for are mostly muted shades, to mix and match with the prints available. Examples of skirts that will help you find your 2010 look are as follows:

At Ann Taylor, they have a variety of skirts with both prints and muted colors (mainly grays), and it is a perfect place to find a pencil skirt this spring. The Silk Dahlia Print Skirt is a print that isn't too wild to wear in a work environment, and costs $118. This skirt would look best with a black shirt, and with either black or tan shoes. This style allows you to wear a print that's easy on the eyes, and that can be flattering on many body types. If you would prefer to wear a shirt with a print this spring, pair it with a black Ponte pencil skirt, which is only $88. Another noticeable trend this spring (this includes not only skirts but shorts as well) is to wear very short outfits. The Ponte pencil skirt is just short enough that it can be worn to work without being vulgar. You can find these skirts on Ann Taylor's website.

Another printed skirt with a bit more edge can be found at Macy's. The Jones New York Rose Print Pencil skirt is easy enough on the eyes to be worn at the workplace without drawing too much attention. The geometric-style rose print works well as a pencil skirt, and could be worn with several different colors and styles of tops. It will definitely add a splash of color during the cooler months, and only costs $99. Macy's has a wide variety of skirts with prints this spring, so it's definitely worthwhile to check out as you do your spring wardrobe shopping.

Another store to consider when shopping for spring skirts is Kohl's. Kohl's provides you with the opportunity to purchase fashionable skirts on a budget. For example, a skirt that would fit in with spring's look would be include the Dana Buchman Pebble Skirt for $39. This skirt would work well for fuller figures, as it flares out at the bottom and isn't quite as form-fitting as the pencil skirts this season. This skirt would likely work best with a white or black top, along with cute heels and endless accessory options. After all, what doesn't go with black, even if it's a black print? Kohl's also has a few other options that fall into the spring fashion category for a low price, and change out their styles often.

Keep in mind that some pieces you purchase may be worn well into the summer if the look isn't too crazy as far as prints are considered. Choose skirts that flatter your figure and that will last you long through the next season, whether or not the trend is still alive. Classic pieces can be kept for years, and some of this spring's skirt offerings will be part of your wardrobe for many years to come.

I mostly wear pants, but may have to reconsider skirts for the spring. Thanks. :-)

I don't wear many skirts, but thanks for the info.

Yep, it looks like skirts are the thing for spring. I just wish some of 'em were a few inches longer.
