Redwood highway millscapecollapsed, an old man, bonesin overalls, plastered on cheap beer,folding chairin blistering outlaw sun.Honky-tonk Buick straight 8tank clampedin the bight oftwo trees,--one an oak,the other dead.Hilltops whipped, chopped out,seedless crops, firewood cops,mechanical hurricane, shithookswingingoverhead.Trees in the drawroad chunked up, ballasted:green bone, shell, human skin, steel, simple trail, made lethal.
