Sky's the Limit - A Poem

The only thing keeping me down is myself

The various insecurities that keep me close to the ground

Only when I except myself for who I truly am

Will I take flight into the beautiful blue sky

Fly like a bird, one day I will

I'm not sure when that day will be but it will be soon

Cuz' sky's the limit, I can do anything

nothing cant hold me down any longer

I wont let it because now I realize there isn't a peak I cant reach

Nothing is to good for me, people or things

I will never lock myself in the chains

Of my shame and indescribable insecurity

Years of torment , sadness, utter discuss

Lacking voice, lacking the passion for life

I will no longer hold myself down like that!

I will fly like the birds, high in the sky

I will be fierce and flawless like an eagle

They'll say, "look at him now" in amazement

They never knew I had these massive wings

My voice even more gigantic, I will no longer be ignored

Roaming the streets without a reason for living

I will be heard, People will listen, I will command attention

I just hope I'll never stray to far off course

The sky's the limit for me...
