Slacker Personal radio allows to choose from more than 100 popular genre stations. The radio automatically uploads new songs based on the user's preference. This is accomplished via its built-in Wi-fi feature.
Radio comes with either 4 or 8 GB storage capacity. The main difference between two storage capacities is the number of channels that can be stored based on the GB. For example, with 4 GB, up to 25 Slacker affiliated radio stations can be stored and programmed while 8 GB can store up to 40 stations. Both are enriched with MP3, WMA and AAC music formats.
Slacker radio comes with 2.4'' color screen which allows to view album art, music reviews and even artists biographies enriched with very informative contents.
But the question is how someone can personalize songs? Actually, it is quite easy and fun. Users can go online and custom build the radio stations and then easily load them on to the radio. For example by simply pressing the favorite button and rating a Slacker radio song as "favorite", that particular song will be played again and again on that station. This feature can be further enhanced by subscribing to premium service which allows favorites to be saved in the Slacker library and then can be listened anytime; it's like having your own CD collection. Wherever users go, their personal and favorite radio stations will be with them all the time at their finger tip.
Personalizing station is pretty neat and user friendly. It lets user tweak the stations via web based player. It also allows to stop listening a particular artist if desired. Simply press the Ban button and it will "ban" a Slacker radio song from being played on that particular station like having your own custom-made radio station.
One of the feature that user's look for is the battery life. This radio comes with rechargeable lithium-polyer battery and can playback up to 15 hours of listening songs. It also comes with a car adapter which makes it 100% portable.
Slacker radio is equipped with USB port which allows connecting with the computer and updating radio station content via Internet connection by going to Slacker website. The other advantage of USB port capability is to transfer the personal music selection to Slacker radio.
It does however require the user to refresh previously selected stations every thirty days. The way to get around is to find out the closest Wi-fi and then simply connect the radio. This step will will refresh stations automatically.
In conclusion, Slacker is a wonderful way to personalize your favorite music and and learn about the lives of artists.
