Slammiversary IX: Results
Slammiversary was Live on Pay-Per-View (PPV), Sunday June 12, 2011. 8 PM ET - 5 PM PT
My Prediction: Sting
Winner: New TNA World Heavyweight Champion Mr. Anderson...Anderson
Ending Of The Match: Sting hit Anderson with a 'Scorpion Death Drop' but only got a two count. Sting thought he had the three and argued with the referee and Bischoff. As Sting was arguing with Bischoff he got hit with a 'Low Blow'. The 'Low Blow' allowed Anderson to deliver a 'Mic Check' to Sting. Anderson pinned Sting and became the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
OLYMPIC GOLD MEDAL MATCH: Kurt Angle (Olympic Gold Medalist) vs. Jeff Jarrett
My Prediction: Kurt Angle
Winner: Kurt Angle
Ending Of The Match: Jarrett placed Angle in an 'Ankle Lock'. Angle attempted to grab the ropes but Jarrett pulled him back to the center of the ring. Angle kicked Jarrett and escaped from the hold. Jarrett attempted to reapply the submission but Angle countered with an 'Ankle Lock' of his own. With nowhere to go Jarrett tapped out, allowing Angle to become the Number One Contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and keep his gold medal in his possession.
X-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Abyss (Champion) vs. Kazarian vs. Kendrick
My Prediction: Abyss
Winner: Abyss
Ending Of The Match: While Abyss was recovering outside the ring, Kendrick and Kaz were trading shots inside the ring. Kendrick laid out Kaz when all of a sudden Abyss pulled Kendrick out of the ring and slammed him onto the floor. Abyss entered the ring, covered Kaz for the three count, allowing him to remain TNA X-Division Champion.
KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Mickie James (Champion) vs. Angelina Love
My Prediction: Mickie James
Winner: Mickie James
Ending Of The Match: Love went for the cover but James had her hand on the ropes. Winter pulled James' hand off the rope and was yelled at by referee Earl Hebner. James set Love up for a 'DDT' but Winter provided a distraction by getting on the apron. James knocked Winter to the floor and hit Love with a 'Suplex For Two'. As the match went on Love rolled up James, Winter helped Love with the pin, but they were only able to get a two count. With James up she kicked Love in the gut and delivered a 'Jumping DDT', James pinned Love, got the three count, and remained TNA Knockouts Champion.
TNA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: James Storm & Alex Shelley (Champions) vs. British Invasion (Douglas Williams & Magnus)
My Prediction: New Tag Team Champions British Invasion (Douglas Williams & Magnus)
Winners: Gun Money (Alex Shelley (Motor City Machine Guns) & James Storm (Beer Money))
Ending Of The Match: Storm gets knocked outside the ring. He takes a sip of beer and reenters the ring to take out Williams. Shelley got hit in the face causing him to be unable to see. As Storm checked on Shelley, Shelley accidentally hit him with a 'Super Kick'. This allowed the British Invasion to nail Storm with their finishing maneuver and cover him. Storm was able to kick out at two. This caused Williams and Magnus to go at it with each other, allowing Shelley and Storm to recover and deliver a pair of 'Super Kicks' to Williams and Magnus. This allowed Shelley to deliver his finishing maneuver out of the corner and get the pin. Gun Money to remained TNA Tag Team Champions.
LAST MAN STANDING MATCH: Bully Ray vs. Aj Styles
My Prediction: Aj Styles
Winner: Bully Ray
Ending Of The Match: Aj hit Ray with a steel chair and laid him on top of a table. Aj climbed the steel columns of the stage. Aj jumped off and nailed Ray with an 'Elbow Drop' through the table. As Aj was getting up, Ray kicked him through the stage wall. This allowed Ray to make it up before the ten count and win the Last Man Standing
MATCH: Crimson vs. Samoa Joe
My Prediction: Crimson
Winner: Crimson
Ending Of The Match: Joe looked to end the match with a 'Muscle Buster' but Crimson jumped over Joe and landed on the mat. Joe turned around and placed Crimson in a 'Choke Hold'. Crimson broke the hold and countered Joe's charge with a 'Powerbomb'. Crimson pinned Joe and kept his undefeated streak going.
MATCH: Matt Morgan vs. Scott Steiner
My Prediction: Matt Morgan
Winner: Matt Morgan
Ending Of The Match: Steiner placed Morgan in the 'Steiner Recliner'. Morgan made it to the ropes forcing Steiner to break the hold. Morgan stood up with Steiner on his shoulders.
