So naturally I figured the Slap Chop Manual Chopper was going to turn out to be a piece of junk.
I found the Slap Chop Manual Chopper at Walgreens for $19.99. Despite the commercial with Vince, (not because of it) I decided to give it a chance. I mean really slap your troubles away?
As annoying as Vince is, he was actually right about how well the Slap Chop Manual Chopper chops. You put potatoes, carrots, pretty much anything into the Slap Chop, and whap the heck out of it.
It claims that the Slap Chop Manual Chopper is dishwasher safe. I have put the parts into the dishwasher and not had a bit of trouble with it coming clean. In fact that is probably easier than trying to wash it by hand.
One thing I would point out is that you have to really hit the top of the Slap Chop Manual Chopper to chop any really hard nuts, such as filberts in it. Otherwise it might not chop them completely. However, peanuts, cashews, almonds, walnuts and pecans chop up nicely.
You can mix different vegetable inside the Slap Chop Manual Chopper and make a salad with it. All you need to do is put a bed of lettuce down in a bowl, and then put carrots, celery, green peppers and onions into the Slap Chop, and whack away at it. (Be careful though or you might end up with vegetable juice!) Not quite, but the more you hit the top of it, the finer the stuff inside gets chopped.
I took a chocolate bar and broke it up and placed it inside the Slap Chop Manual Chopper. It chopped it up very nicely and I put it over ice cream. You might want to put any chocolate into the refrigerator though to harden it a little bit. You can take just about any kind of candy bar, and put it into the Slap Chop Manual Chopper. My wife and I each have our favorite candy bars as ice cream toppings.
If you have every had a problem chopping onions, and ending up with your eyes running, get yourself a Slap Chop Manual Chopper. Put the onions inside the Slap Chop and those tears are over.
I was very surprised that the Slap Chop Manual Chopper actually worked as advertised. Ignore the guy that does the commercials, and get one. You will be glad you did.
