Very few of us want to wear a ski mask full time to protect ourselves from the cold. Cold reduces humidity in the air, leaving skin feeling chaffed and dry, sometimes even cracked. Skin that is normal in summer can turn oily in winter, or dry depending on your age and health and hormones. I've experienced many of the problems; here are some tips to have you looking your best.
Overnight Dry Skin Repair Session
I used to work with chemicals and we found that putting on a heavy cream or lotion, then wore rubber gloves, that the cream or lotion would sink into the skin better. The same effect can be accomplished at night by using Vaseline or if you have fungus problems Vicks, rubbing a heavy dose over your feet then putting on socks. The socks help the cream enter your skin and protects your floors and sheets. Use light cotton gloves on your hands. A night time skin cream also works wonders.
Before Bathroom Cleaning Oil Treatment
Oil can make a mess of your bathroom fixtures so I usually wait cleaning day, the give myself a body and hair oil treatment. Hot oil treatments can be bought at the store, and heated by setting it into a mug of boiling water before your share. After you wash your hair, add the oil treatment. Then start on your body. Have baby oil in a bottle in the shower. Using a mitt, build up a lather with your favorite soap and add a squirt of baby oil. When you shower clean, the oil will leave you feeling sleek and sexy.
Car Lock Box Body and Hand Repair
That box between the two front seats is a handy place to keep a spare skin wipe and bottle of lotion. Use a multipurpose hand and body lotion and refresh your face and soften your handles after being outdoors in the cold.
Attitude Boost at the Tanning Salon especially Pre-Vacation
Many people who escape to sunny locales, forget that their built up summer tan has diminished to the point that any long term sun exposure will make them likely to burn. Before heading to Hawaii or south to Florida, Arizona, or Mexico, plan on ten weekly or biweekly tanning sessions. The light will improve your ability to withstand low light depression and the tan will help you make the most of your vacation. Be sure to use a tanning salon tanning lotion to protect your skin.
