My experience with the Sleep Inn of Knoxville on off Cedar Bluff Road began with the online reservation system.
Whenever possible, I make my hotel reservations through iGive.com. This online portal has arrangements with several companies. When you use their system a tiny portion of your purchase benefits a nonprofit of your choice. Choice Hotels is one of the participating companies. You must use the online portal to qualify.
The portal works like a search engine. Participating businesses are highlighted in the search results. Click on the business you want and you're ready to shop as you normally would.
Making the reservation.
I found the reservation system to be well laid out and user friendly. Since I already had an account all I had to do was sign in, select my hotel and room type.
In just a few clicks my reservation for the Sleep Inn off Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville was made. It was confirmed for late arrival on my credit card. Cancellation would need to be done by 4:00 pm on the date of my arrival to avoid penalties. So far so good.
Getting there:
The directions I had left me confused. I called the Sleep Inn off Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville while en route. A friendly employee gave me easy to follow directions.
I was to get off of I-75/I-40 at Cedar Bluff Exit #378 and follow the sign to Executive Park Drive. There, I would turn right. When I reached the end of the street the Sleep Inn would be right in front of me.
A few minutes after talking to the desk clerk I pulled into the parking lot. The directions were perfect.
Check in:
Check in was as a fast and as efficient as the reservation system. I walked in, gave my and credit card and was given the key. It was seamless. The clerk I had spoken with had been replaced by a clerk who was just as friendly.
The property:
The Sleep Inn off Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville is on a quiet cul-de-sac. The rooms are entered via an interior corridor. Entrances are controlled by key access. The lot is well lighted with the most light being in the front of the hotel. At no time did I feel insecure or uncomfortable during my stay.
Pets
This Sleep Inn is pet friendly. An upcharge of $15 per night applies. The weight limit is 60 pounds. They do ask for a deposit of $50 if you are paying for your room with cash.
The desk clerk removed the extra fee when we told him we were traveling with a service dog. No questions were asked. We were directed on where to relieve the dog and help was offered. It was the perfect check-in.
The room:
Inside, the room was clean and comfortable. There were 2 double beds. No lightweight flimsy pillows here! These were soft, comfortable and piled high. The bed was comfortable and I got a good night's sleep.
My room at the Sleep In off Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville had a nightstand, TV, desk, chair and clothing rack. A micro/fridge combination and coffee pot completed the room. Complimentary samples of lotion and shampoo are available in the room. Other toiletry items are available from the front desk.
Space was adequate. There was comfortable enough room to work and move around in without being cramped.
Amenities
The Sleep In off Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville offers free high speed wireless internet access. I had a steady constant signal in both the room and lobby. At no time did the wireless signal drop the connection.
From 6:00 a.m. '" 9:30 a.m. there is a continental breakfast just off the lobby. Everything was clean and in good condition there. On the day I was there the choices included the usual fare of cereals, fruit, pastries and waffles. Beverages included coffee, tea, milk or juice.
To the side of the breakfast area is the business center. It's open from 1:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Several computers are available. Photo copies, faxing is $1.00 per page.
The Sleep In off Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville does not have a fitness center but there is an outdoor pool. The grounds were as well maintained as the interior of the building.
Our cost was $59 plus tax for a room with two double beds. We did receive an AAA discount. Discounts are also offered for senior citizens and other groups. Compare prices on the website listed above.
All in all, it added up to a comfortable night stay. If in the area again I would consider staying at the Sleep Inn off Cedar Bluff Road in Knoxville.

Post a CommentVery nice of them to waive the fee for a service dog. I haven't traveled with my dog before but it's nice to know there are great places to stay if I need to.
Okay, glad for you, but I don't WANT any dogs around when I'm staying in a motel or hotel.
