Sudden weight gain in stress full condition can indeed wreak havoc on health and weight. Researcher in recent studies has correlated sudden weight gain and stress strained lifestyle. To live a happy stressless life and staying slim and fit is in your hands and your lifestyle.

You could have seen people over forty or people with excessive stress, or widowers and persons in very high responsible job, gain fat. Stress hinders your sleep and you tend to gain fat all this is scientifically proved. You might have your own personnel experience when you have gained fat in stressful period. Your carving for sweets, carbohydrates, chips, cold drinks and another diet gain fatty foods put sudden weight gain.

How is stress triggers sudden weight gain?
In a study it was found that cortisol a hormone that is formed is responsible to stress adds pot belly. In an excessive stressful time, the cortisol doesn't get burned, instead of it keeps on piling up. When excess cortisol that is released throws hormones like insulin and serotonin out of balance. It also causes a slowdown in metabolism, increases hunger and cravings, and triggers a blood sugar imbalance. Excessive cortisol prompts the body to accumulate fat around your center.

Reduced Sleep triggers sudden weight gain
In stressful life, according to the research was found that sleep gets deprived, less than four hours of sleep per night, there was a significant increase in both hunger and appetite. The study reveled that increased in appetite was for high carbohydrate, energy dense foods. And the hunger will hit you in the afternoon, when you feel the effects of lack of rest most intensely.

Less sleep means a decrease in leptin (the hormone that is responsible for decreases appetite), and an increase in ghrelin (a hormone that stimulates appetite), creating unmanageable hunger situation and out-of-control appetite.

People with higher BMI means your body hasn't had enough sleep to recharge, it seeks energy in food.

Stress management is a critical aspect of weight-loss programs in the workplace, clinical and public health programs, the research recommends that in the workplace, access to weight-loss programs, flexible work schedules and exercise programs can help stressed-out workers.

Tips to reduce stress and keep yourself fit

A) Have enough sleep, which is for average humans is six to seven hours per day.
B) Be conscious of the stress in your life.
C) Eat balanced and nutritional diet to prevent sudden weight gain.
D) Regular exercise is a must for all to check gain fat.
E) Implement meditation, or yoga, Tai Chi program to help manage stress.
