Sleeping Beauty

From TB'S Poetry Book "Disturbances"

T.B. Taylor

The gossamer threads lay across her face

Her eyes are closed forever

Her heart now beats at a slower pace

And reality and dream are together.

Her hair falls over a pillow of silk

Her breathing shallow and lost

The soft white roses begin to wilt

Her pain will end at all costs.

Her eyes were once bright with love

Then glistened with her tears

Then over flew the deep red dove

The collects the pain of all the years.

Her pain is gone, no turmoil there

For the stains at her wrists were red

Her sleep eternal, 'till someone should care

Then she shall raise her head.

He heard of her pain

And new her love he did miss

He went where she'd lain

And ended her sleep with is kiss.
