SleepWalkers

Lost in the Deep

Tye Martin
You walk by them every day. Or maybe you don't even see them anymore because they have transcended into another dimension of the invisible.
If you pay close attention you will see them, you will feel them. For their souls cry out to others because they are no longer capable of responding to themselves.

They are there, but not there. They are alive, but dead. They walk ,although they sleep. Yes, they are the sleepwalkers among you. Those who are subconsciously and spiritually dead. Those who have died to themselves long ago, unable to awaken from the comatose state of denial, hurt, pain, and rejection. You can see the sadness in their in the depths of their eyes and feel the desperation in their soul. They desire to awaken, but have forgotten how. As I walk through the streets, my spirit and soul screams out , "WAKE UP"!!! How long will you sleep ? How long will you exist and not live?? Awaken by the light I say!! But they don't hear me, for the sleep is to deep.

It can happen to any of us at any given time. It is in those crucial moments of lost, trials and tribulations that are suppose to be our defining moments, that one can lose themselves. It is the breaking revelation of reflecting who we truly are and what we are capable of, but most of us fail to realize it.

Instead we are seduced by our situations allowing our circumstances to define us, instead creating and redefining them. We then lose or misplace our position in life, falling off that endless cliff, never really grasping a foothold again. Some of us realize the fall, grabbing hold of something, or anything tangible to stop the drop, but others on their way down forget to look up or out for solution, and become fixated on the black hole, eventually giving up, and falling into the deep of themselves. They let their dreams die, and bury themselves with them.

Ask yourself, am I living or just existing? Am I accomplishing, or at least striving toward my dreams and goals? Do I wake up every morning with excitement because I am doing what I love every day? Am I completely free of fear, and clear of mental and spiritual captivity? Am I happy with myself in all that I do? Am I giving my best in all that I do? Is there any type of bondage in my life holding and keeping me in the same place? Am I living the dream???
I ask these questions of you to make sure you are still alive...........Check your pulse, for you to may be a sleepwalker. If so.......... WAKE UP!!!

Great message; reminds me of a line from a movie: Joe vs. the Volcano: "...only a few people are awake and they live in a state of constant total amazement." I liken it to Jesus telling us if we want to enter the kingdom of heaven, we need to become like little children. I like to hang out with kids; because, mostly, they live lives of constant amazement. I get amazed looking at a tiny tomato seed; out of something so tiny, can come that juicy, big ripe tomato.

Don't know, Tye. Am 51 now, seems like I was doing better back in my 20s. Am a really political person. Sometimes wonder if this really means I'm for the greater good, or whether it's a way to cover up for personal disappointments, but I hate the direction the country has gone: Rich get richer, poor get poorer, and so on. As a young adult, I spent 7 years trying to organize the people in Saginaw's poorest neighborhood. The people were great, they represented themselves well, they made some progress in fighting the blight, but in the end we lost. There are just too many forces against the poor. And I've sort of been bummed ever since, deep inside, even though I still try to be a good person. But the reason I gave your piece a 5-star (even though the star didn't move; I think AC has defective stars!) is that for sure it provides motivation to do better, no matter what one's circumstances. And the sleepwalking is an ideal analogy. P.S.: I hit a button that says "subscribe" and now my comp
