Two in the morning, I had to get up and write.
Thinking, and hoping, and, dreaming up something successful,
knowing full well, it doesn't just come in the night.
Trying to turn my words into something more than just letters,
worth the read to those who might be paying attention.
I can be my own worst critic sometimes,
and others may not enjoy in what I sometimes mention.
Writing poetry for nearly ten years now,
a form of art that has been nearly forgotten about.
Placing the heart and soul into it all,
a place to which inner emotions can sometimes shout.
This sleepwalking daydreamer,
dreaming far beyond sleep.
In the coming daylight's sun,
there will be more words, and more dreams to keep.
Nearly two-thirty,
thoughts flowing so slow.
I guess I am the sleepwalking daydreamer,
words rest upon my pillow, into dreams I must go.
