Slumber Party Games for Teens

Hillary Marshall
Teens love having slumber parties, but left to their own devices, they can get into a lot of trouble. For this reason, it's best to plan some teen sleepover games for them to play. A good slumber party game should be interactive, fun and require very few props. Let your teens choose the games they want to play with their friends.

Sleeping Bag Masquerade

Have your teen choose one person to be "it" and have that person leave the room. While she is gone, the rest of the people at the party turn off the lights and hide in each others' sleeping bags.

The "it" teen comes in and picks a sleeping bag by tapping the person in it. That person must say hello, but she can say it in a distorted or funny voice. The person who is "it" tries to guess who it is. If she guesses wrong, the person in the sleeping bag says nothing and the person who is "it" moves on to another sleeping bag. If she guesses correctly, the person in the sleeping bag reveals herself. When the person who is it guesses correctly, the person they guessed correctly on is now "it" and a new round starts.

Whisper Down the Lane

Start by having all the party guests write down something funny about one of the other party guests. When everyone is done they will fold up the paper and put it in an empty shoe box. Then everyone sits in a circle. The party host pulls the first piece of paper from the box, but doesn't show it to anyone. She whispers what she read in the ear of the person to her left. Each person continues whispering the message to the next person until they get to the last person. That person says what they were told out load. Generally, by the time the last person gets the message whispered to them it has been changed or distorted and everyone gets a good laugh out of it. On consecutive rounds turns will move counterclockwise.

Secrets and Lies

Pick one person to be "it". She sits in the middle of the rest of the people who form a circle around her. The rest of the people get an even number of pieces of candy. The goal for the person in the middle is to trick the rest of the people into giving her candy. The person who is "it" will make a statement about herself. That statement can be true or false, but the other people have to guess if it is true or false. Whoever guesses wrong has to give the girl who is "it" a piece of their candy. The person who is "it" gets 20 tries to fool people.
