One of the neatest things to do with clear or white Christmas lights is to put them in a clear jar or vase. You can also use a wine decanter that is broken off at the top. You can then put flowers in the top of the container to make it look really pretty. It is important when you are doing this that you secure the wire to hide it. You can use wire to attach it to the sides of a shelf or other item that you put your new creation on.
For another great idea for old Christmas lights you can take some artificial flowers and remove the inside buds. Slip the flower part over the light and it makes a very different string of lights that you can put in any room in your home. You can use any color for this idea and put it in your bedroom or bathroom, too. You can keep it up all year long because it will no longer have a holiday feel to it. This idea is fun for younger people and they will enjoy removing the flowers when the holidays come back around to decorate their room.
Another idea for old Christmas lights is to use them around a picture frame to brighten up. This looks extremely pretty on silver picture frames because of the reflections that it creates. Make sure that you put an excellent picture inside the frame so that it really stands out.
An old fish tank, preferably in an odd shape will also look wonderful when you put several strings of lights inside it. Add some nice artificial plants to the scene and it will look very interesting. Create some color within the tank by using artificial flowers and make a whole scene out of it.
So keep those old Christmas lights out of the boxes for now and do something interesting with them. You will spice up your home and have a unique new look. It will be fun figuring different ideas out, too. It will allow you to be really creative and spend some fun time decorating even though the holidays are over.
